when he just does a limp it's just pure guess work on the flop I just thought well I might as well get it in because if he does a bet I will probably jam and for all I know he could be holding a suited hand or 22.

I have never had a pure guesswork situation, where the answer was ship in a 4x pot bet with a draw.

    Terrible shove, terrible

    Its totally different,

Shove Ax pre in a bountyhunter and it is quite possible you will get called by worse, or a coinflip.

Shipping the above example, you are almost never getting called by worse. The only possibly worse hand that might consider calling is a worse 4, and thats only if they are bat sheet insane.

Anyway, shipping ace low in a bounty pre is also pretty bad, unless shortstacked

I was short stacked here so having got a draw it was always going to go in if I checked the chances are he would bet and as I don't have a clue what he has for all I know he might be just stealing it so I would go for the shove.

If you do intend on shoving, and you have no idea what he has, at least check/shove and give him a chance to c-bet with air so you can win a bigger pot. If he checks back, fine we get a free card, and then our equity halves and we can get rid if we miss.
