PLO8 DYM - Fold too tight?

Only had 1 pair so when he sticks 2/3 of his stack in on the turn - time to fold?
I cashed in the end so no worries :-)

     Have been having a good long look at this and have come to a conclusion.


      Your major mistake was preflop. With a limper having position on you they are very likely to call any raise you make. And yes you do have a raising hand and should be raising.

     But the thing to think about is you want to be getting your entire stack over the line when you hit and lose the minimum when you miss.

     If you had min raised pre the call would have made the pot 500 with 2400 behind. Potting the flop for 500 would make it 1500 with 1900 behind. Which means that a major turn bet would leave you totally committed for your stack. Pot leaving you 400 behind and over 4000 in the middle.

      That flop is awful for you really because you just have 1 pair and no redraws at all so you dont want to be getting many chips into the middle then and as soon as you are called you were right to run away from the pot.

     Would have been a whole lot better though if you had raised weaker pre flop which means losing less.
     The whole game no matter what discipline we play is to lose the minimum and win the max. You could have tried to win the max by risking less here. Hopefully some of this helps
