Would like some comments on this please. Nothing specific, just general analysis on how the play went. I am a little confused by my opposition's folds on the river - can't really make any sense of that.

Was a £2 DYM BTW and Thombeck seemed like a loose player ... at one point he raised a pot UTG with K2 off.

He was drawing to the flush. He's not priced in to do so on the turn, but some people just can't let go of those hands. He probably had A9 of hearts or some such.

Raise the flop and we probably stack them.

Would usually raise flop here but calling isn't terrible in a standard situation if players are wide. However this being a DYM and survival/getting 3rd only is the main key it's more important to take it down/get players commited now then go for max value. So flop becomes a 100% raise here imo. Turn I think flatting is fine. We can only be outdrawn by Kx or a straight flush and our stack is small enough that we can get the rest in OTR.

I guess Thombeck had Tx which he just thought wasn't good anymore and the other player was probably on a missed draw.

That was exactly why I did not raise the flop. I was certain I was ahead, and I thought I could get value from both of them, rather than getting one or both to fold on the flop that is. Essentially was playing deceptively with my hand.

I was shocked that they both put in 712.50 on the river, but then folded when I put in my extra 400 .. after already committing so many chips I thought they would go to showdown!
