250 BB's at the micro stakes, this needs changing. The most you should be able to bring is 100 times the BB no matter what level you are playing, unless it is stated as a deep stack cash game.

It doesn't matter.....u dnt have to sit down with the max, its irrelevant coz the blinds never go up. If ur only willing to lose 100 bbs then only sit with 100 bbs. Its not gunna effect ur game. U cant really use a big stack to 'bully' a cash game like u can in a tourny.
If its folded rnd to u in a tourny in the SB and u have 5 times the chips of the fella in the BB, if the blinds r high alot of the time ur pushing any 2 cards. The blinds r worth stealing.
This isnt the case in cash, especially micro stakes - like ya said stealing the blinds here cud be increasing ur stack by 1/250th - wats that as a percentage? = 4 pence neway.
Its not the max buy in that needs looking at its the min buy in!!!

Oh and at 5p/10p u can sit with 20 quid if ya like.
The reason is that if you have sat with £4 (100bb) and steadily built it up to £10 then anyone can sit at the table and relieve you of your entire stack in one hand through a bad beat (or even good play). This wouldn't be the case if they could only sit with £4.
This may not be important to the majority of players but it does affect some people.
If ya scared of losing a tenner u shunt be playing a tenner. Stand up n find another tablke, what if ive been playing all night and doubled up 8 times to 80 quid?
Theres always players playing above the buy in at every level.

People have a right to be able to play 4p tables with a max buy-in of 100bb which is the same "rule" as all the high levels of game on this site - unless they are advertised as deepstack.
It is a matter of preference whether people sit down with the maximum - it is certainly not true to say that people "should always" do this. You and I might sit with the maximum but other players are perfectedly entitled to sit with whatever amount suits them. The arguments for sitting with the maximum amount are well known but that doesn't mean that everyone has to subscribe to them.
P.S. Dohx7, you are right that you can change tables but you cannot (now) leave and rejoin the same table with a smaller stack as I'm sure that you are aware. If a person is enjoying a profitable time at a particular table then I can understand their reluctance to move to a different one. Many people do not wish to play "deepstack" poker - they just want to be able to play a small stakes cash game with a few friends. There are many different types of player on this site and they all need to be catered for.
