Sky Poker Cup final exit

Will post the whole hand as it has already been shown on 861 and some of you may have already seen it.

I certainly saved my worst game for the final. My mental state here though was shot to pieces, I had £3k locked up, my head was all over the place and my heart was pounding. This certainly did effect my decision making, I know it shouldn't but I was playing for money that was far more than I have ever played for before.

Having looked back on the hand today I am still unsure of how I should have played it.

Pre: 4bet? or call? Why?
Flop: Surely can't fold here yet?
Turn: Unsure about the decision here.........help! Should alarm bells be starting to ring here?
River: Feel this is where I made the big mistake, but like I said, I was all over the place by now........thought about the busted flush draw and called him off. I WAS WRONG!!

So yeah, basically how should I have played the whole hand??? lol Obv try not to be results orientated. I am trying to play more and more HU (never for this kind of money again though!!!) so would appreciate the advice/abuse.

Watched this live and can defo see why you called, The way the board plays out defo peel flop and turn card such a blank seems standard to call ,easy on that river to see a snap jam and level yourself into the call just sick its for so much money and defo never expect him to turn up with a9 there, i figured it was likely aks,aqs or ajs with A of dimes but that is narrowing his range way too much, in reality his value range by river is 99,jj,qq,kk,aa,aj and flopped flushes, whereas his bluffing range assuming an average 3betting range is like a10+x k10+x 1 dime, ignoring the result obv wouldn't epect 1010 or a9 k9 to ship the river so i guess that would suggest it's a fold. He had 3bet a few times in a row i think? in which case i don't mind just 4b/ getting it in or just shipping despite how deep we are. WP on the 3k by the way.

Firstly, vwp! And enjoy the money!

Kind of an unfortunate runout for 88. I can't help but feel the J on the river is a pretty bad card for us though. The river shove kinda felt like a range merge from the villain.

Even the obvious busted draw might have got there in one form by the river. Does he have the minerals to fire a 3 street airball in what is essentially a 2k HU? Can see why you called though, but that does mean narrowing him down to exactly AdX?, and that might be slightly too narrow for my liking in the first level.

Yeah I admit it does look like a clear fold on the river. I had called off a river bluff shove in the semi and this was also in the back of my mind when it came to this spot. I was thinking if I'm right here then I've won the lot!!! but yeah I was wrong, so wrong haha.

Still it was the best buzz I've had playing poker, probably ever. Which is what it's all about at the end of the day, well for me it is anyway.
