From a 2.20 bounty builder, hand just didn't feel comfortable. No real reads at all on opponent. Should I be flatting pre (seems not great from small blind)? Check back flop? Call shove from him? Or played it fine?

You've tried to take the pot down once, with a re-steal , twice with a Cbet, I dont think xxx is going away.

You have A high with a good kicker, its a fold here.

    Hi Allan

A few things to think about here, 1st is you have no reads on villain so you can only read the action in front of you. important to gain info on all players at the table if you can.

Nothing wrong with the 3 bet OOP,

You need to ask yourself is this 3 bet for value or as a bluff vs villains ranges when he calls or re raises you?

you need to make a plan for the hand
when ranges get reduced post flop if you don't take it down pre.

If you cbet this 493r flop with that size, whats the plan for the turn and river before you get to that street?

Do you have many cards that you can barrel what part of his range can you make him fold on the river?

what sizes should i use to make that play work better to increase fold equity.
all things you need to make subconscious in your mind when playing every hand.

As played the c bet is fine, take in to account it doesn't have to work at a high frequency to show a profit with that size.

100% fold when he jams you beat nothing in that spot, and take in to account villains shove is bad he should not be shoving any hands on that flop.

so you can mark him down as a recreational player and exploit him latter in the mtt.

cheers Binks all good stuff. 3 bet was defo value and I don't think that bet was particularly small on such a dry flop against 1 player with low SPR? Maybe checking is better but the hand gets very awkward if he bets

I like the flop size for sure as I say it doesn't have to work at a high frequency to show a profit.
