I think I know 1 part of this. The bold bit.

Technically, you never sign up to i-poker directly. You sign up to the skin, whether that is Grosvenor, Paddy, WillHill, Sky or whoever.

They don't "merge". I-poker allows you to have as many accounts via different skins as you like. But you can only log on to 1 of them at any 1 time. The software prevents you logging in to a 2nd unless and until you have logged out of the 1st.

They have to do it that way. Otherwise, people would be able to multi-account with themselves.

People will have a choice. Going forward, if you want to play on Sky, you will be able to play both the Sky games and the general i-poker games. But you will not be able to play on a different Skin (including their ring-fenced games) at the same time.

This is all correct. For this reason there is no welcome offer or 'sign up bonus' for existing customers as you are already registered with Sky Poker.

I am a recreational player and enjoy playing on Sky. Apart from a few times on PKR which subsequently folded I have never played anywhere else.

Here I will try to explain how I play on Sky Poker.

I would appreciate someone from Sky explaining in layman's terms using the points from my example the differences I should expect when I give the new platform a try. Sorry for the long post.

If it turns out to be significantly less enjoyable and as I will not be able to ask after the switch perhaps someone might suggest an alternative platform that might be most similar to my current experience that I set out below, thanks.

1. I use the Chrome web browser on a Mac laptop to play at skypoker.com
   
2. I've rarely experienced any technical/connection issues.
   
3. I typically play the No Limit Hold'em £200 Deep Stack Tournament at 7.15pm for £2.20 I usually join an hour later towards the end of late registration at around 8.15pm, typically there are around 60-100 other players left in the tournament at this time with a max of 6 per table.
   
4. After registration at this time I get 5000 chips with 10 minute blinds at around the 50/100 level so I often play plenty of hands and can lose a chunk of my stack but still have a reasonable chance to recover as blinds are still relatively small. It's possibly the main reason I like this game.
   
5. I do not play any other games at the same time i.e. I do not multi table.
   
6. I use the table options so that I always sit in the same relative seat (just above the action buttons) and can set the alert volume independently of my laptop volume. I turn chip sounds etc off. I choose the 4 colour deck and auto muck hands. I choose the default sky table layout and my favourite avatar. Other than the alert volume I never change these options.
   
7. I have 20 seconds to decide my action at each turn before I am auto folded.
   
8. If I time out I auto fold each hand until I click the 'I am Back' button.
   
9. I use the 'Fold' in advance button to set my fold action before my turn.
   
10. The "Your Hand" text in the middle of the table tells me my current hand value which I find useful as sometimes I haven't realised when I have hit a straight or flush, conversely there are times when I think I have hit but it shows I am mistaken. Yes honestly it happens.
    
11. I view the 'Game Info' tab to keep track of my overall tournament position.
    
12. If I'm getting close to the cash I open the lobby to see the positions that will cash and the stacks of my other table opponents.
    
13. Once down to the last 2 tables and if I am confident of progressing (often fatally) I occasionally open the other table to observe the play there.
    
14. If I am lucky enough to get to the Final Table then finish time is typically around midnight so around 4 hours playing time for me.
    
15. I don't use the chat much these days (I found some people got what I felt was overly abusive, not to me especially but I now avoid it)
    
16. I rarely play other game types. Occasionally small stakes DYM (streak week), very occasionally a bounty hunter tournament.
    
17. In the Account section I use the monthly 'Up by'/'Down by' breakdown to keep an eye on how I'm doing.
    
18. If I'm lucky enough to win some cash I can withdraw £10 or more at any time.
    

Sorry if this sounds very basic to people reading and I realise I may sound a bit clueless but this is the only Poker I know so hopefully someone from Sky will use my example (or use case as I believe it is called by IT people) to hilight all the differences on this type of game - in layman's terms please as I'm not very fluent at poker speak (yes clueless). It might also prompt an 'oh yeah never thought about that' moment.

This day last year

"The usual brief Saturday run-through.

Yesterday was as lovely a day as you could imagine, the warmest so far this year with temps into the low 20's in many places. As a result, Supermarkets had one of their best days of the year, folks buying barbecue food, salad, ice cream & all sorts. Coffee bars & cafes with outside seating did well too, & pubs with gardens were overflowing. So good news for pretty much everyone - except Online Poker, where numbers suffered exactly as one would expect. The Main, Mini & BWBH all got badly hit, with overlay of £720, £365 & £500 respectively, so that's almost £1,700 right there. Oddly perhaps, the late evening stuff was fine, in fact the £1,000 Quickdraw made over double it's guarantee at £2,120, & I can't recall when that last happened.

Two really good players in @Gambelo & @StayOrGo battled it out HU in Avenger Main with the former getting the nod, he ran 4th in Quickdraw too. Has won all the £110 stuff here including three Sunday Majors, one of which during boomlet paid over £5,200 to 1st. Won a Vegas package with us in, I think, 2018. You know all about runner-up @StayOrGo but it's worth noting what a month he is having, up to the 10th of May he has already made 14 Featured FT's so he's on course for over 40 in the month if he carries on at this rate. As well as 2nd in last night's Main he was 4th in BWBH too.

@baldoire played 3 MTT's, bricking the 20.25 Mega & 21.30 Reload but coming off best in the Mini. Over the years does very well in Reload, & he won a UKOPS Rebuy in 2019.

After winning his £110 seat in a £24 satellite, @blaisee went on to win BWBH and was 2nd in Quickdraw. He's had some monster results down the years the best of which was just shy of £5,000 when 2nd in a £50,000 "Super Sunday" thing in 2018. Runner-up was @Super_Oli who made two other FT's, 4th in 9 @ 9 & 5th in Turbo. Boring Bloke @mattprawn was 3rd with that man @StayOrGo in 4th.

@LittleGJ won 7 @ 7 for the 2nd time inside the last week and at least the 10th time in total.

The first SPT Glasgow satellites ran last night with @wineli and @Cammyface both booking a seat at the first attempt. @Cammyface was playing his first MTT here in almost 2 years.

In the Vegas Quarter, @podraic @blindpoet & @Gerro66 all won their place in Sunday's Semi Final, with @madprof picking up £37.60 in cash.
