The 8s on the river becomes and easy fold, i probably raise the flop though, 3bet pot, wet board - straight and flush draws so id be looking to get it in there.
On the river only T9 didnt get there. Just sigh hit fold and move otho the next hand - at least we saved a fiver.
larson well played but i have to admit you were quite lucky getting me to fold this hand and TBH it was bad for me to make the call on the flop. If i was calling the flop i should have called the river too because i could only see you holding a set on the flop so i was throw my money away.

when it come to bluffing hands such as this are the worst time to bluff and i should have just folded the flop because i could only put you on a set. the time yo should aim to bluff is when you are in position because you will know what the villian have done already.

with this hand me knowing that you just checked the flop i was already thinking you were behind but just incase you were actually planning to check raise i decided to check back but when you went for a check on the turn i went with the thought that the board was just too scary so took the chance to bluff my flush.
What a day at poker, honestly most extreme day I have ever had lol
I sat down this afternoon, 4 tables open, the 2nd hand in, I have aces, it ends up making it way all in 3 way, AA vrs KK vrs 10J, 10j gets runner runner straight! Unreal, If i just see a flop, and bet the flop no way is 10 J sticking about lol unreal. Then after that handed i was so tilted I went on to lose about £15 in total, total spew.
It;s weird i keep saying dont tilt, but once in a while i keep doing it! Lesson 1, dont tilt
Then tonight i came on and ended up winning it all back plus a bit more, poker is a weird game at times. In the second hand i was on a bit of a heater, and shoved my set to protect against a flush draw, bad i know. I ended up getting quad 3s on the river.
Hey Craig, yeah it was a really sick bluff i pulled there, you are struggling to call there. Tbh, i would have folded that 2 in that spot, it just looks mega strong.
Hope you are doing well at the tables tonight. Good luck
Just finished 5th in the Top of Posts game lol I lost a big pot to aussie (below) when i finall shoved KQ suited with about 12 bigs he called with A 9, Ace 9 held.
In this hand, I thought he was making a move so called his raise pre, plus ive got position.
When he checks the flop, i bet the flop which i am happy enough with.
On the turn when he checks I should of fired out again.
On the river i called because it looked like a bluff.
Just a quick update, current bankroll £117.33, i was down to under £100 and back up to £140.
Just sat down at a 5p 10p table and lost a buy in lol
I always wondered what makes a good player good, and how they got to where they were. I posted up to ask how TommyD got to where he is. Interestingly, he started with £60 and after winning an MTT, that took him into the 100s it just went from there. A bit of good luck early doors surely helps, however it just shows the skill that has taken Tommy through the levels to the top on sky.
I was grinding out 2p-4p to see about making a profit. I'm not that bothered about that for the time being, I play poker for a bit of fun, it's a great game with a great dynamic. Just now the main thing is that I still enjoy playing. It would be nice to see a profit, but aslong as i'm still enjoying it and not getting bored that's my priority right now.
When i started the MTT thread, it was to see if i could make a profit from them, i now know i'm far off from that. But i enjoy these the most, for the next while I am going to play a bit more of these, win or lose they are good fun.
I've also started playing hu turbos, which are really good fun. So far i've done reasonable well in these, think i've won more than i lost.
Still gonna play a bit of cash but not to the same extent as before.
Poker is a lot of psychology, and the as it is the now no way would i achieve making a profit from playig poker.
I just make way 2 many bad decisions/ chase cards when i should be folding. I'm not saying this because i am on a bad run, but genuinely when i look at the last week i have just been playing bad.
Going forward, i'm most interested in still enjoying the game and if i make a profit it's a bonus.
For the next week, i'm going to post up every night what i've played in the day and how it's went/ profit and loss.
Was up at the football today, Motherwell scored late on to delay the Champions another couple of weeks! Celtic trounced Hibs 3-0, some cracking banter at the football.
Going to get in some poker tonight, no pressure just for the fun:D
Saturday 6th April
So far -0.65, Busted out of the Bounty Hunter after 6 minutes, Jack high flush against a King High Flush, i knew guy had a flush, but a lot of the time Jack High Flush is good here (hand below)
Played a bit of cash, 4 tables never really got going at any of them, I lost a buy in early doors Queens vrs Aces Pre lol never really picked up from there i played reasonable well, wasn't making any stupid decisions
Saturday 6th April HU Games, played 3 won 3 = £2.85. Cash = -£7.81 BHunter = -£2.20
that 88 i would just call the turn again because if you know they will fold a big bet when the flush comes you can still steal the pot plus they might have on Ahigh or a weaker pair.
Some guys from higher levels dropped in for a bit of "fun" shoving every hand pretty much haha I limped in with Kings, it was raised, i reraised, haha the guy went all in i call and he won with like 5 7 lol He had like 40 quid at a 2p 4p table lol
Played a few hus games against rancid as well, good times
It's been quite a turbulent time since starting this lol
The day I started this i was tilting and spewed a lot over the next while, in the time I have been doing this my b/roll has fluctuated between £90 and £120 a lot!
My current bankroll is £136.77
I've been doing a lot better since i said i was just going to play for fun and not worry about winning or losing.
I know what my "leaks" are, and silly enough a lot of the time i am making the same mistakes, must cut this out haha
I've learned that MTT's are not my strongest point, I've struggled in the longest while to get a score in any of these so in the last while I have lost a lot playing these.
HU SnG's, for some reason since i've started playing these theres quite a lot of wins, overall i win more from these compared to whats lost. I'm going to focus on playing quite afew of these. Benc told me after i played him I would be able to beat the £5 games, but im just gonna stick to £1 games at the moment lol I would be gutted losing 4 fiver games ina row lol
Cash, when i posted up about going to just start playing for "fun" i was getting a bit annoyed by just grinding p-4p cash, and often the lack of dynamic at a table. I've started playing some 8 nl, 10nl, 20nl and 30nl. I know i don't have the bank roll for it, but i'm quite happy doing this. One thing i started doing at 2p-4p to practice was sitting down with the minimum, £1.20, and seeing how much i could spin this up to, quite often i could get this up to £4. People say you should sit down with 100BB which i totally understand, you want to get maximum value when you get your win. A bit different, at higher level tables i will sit down with less than 100 BB, focus try and a play well and spin this up. And if i'm goin to lose an all in, i'm mitigating my losses.
