the only thing we are ever beating with them is a lower 1 pair.
you played hand perfect up untill the turn, where you get re-raised.that should have sent alarm bells ringing and you are probably beat here.(you have invested £1.60 up untill this point).that should be the end of the hand for you.
you then call the extra £2.25 off.
the villian has ch flop and ch/raised turn.
now he's betting £5.63 on river too, why? (is he likely to be doing this with just 1 pair?would you? no)
it's never easy laying down big pairs but i have found out the hard way myself, you have to when real strength is being shown against you,as here.(unless you think it's an out and out bluff)
if villain had simply called your turn bet, then you bet again on river and he called again,ie;slow playing his 2 pair then that's unlucky. (make a note..slow plays 2 pairs) for next time.
the clues are normally in the betting somewhere.you have to be aware of them when they come up and then act accordingly to them, easier said than done though.
saying that no one's perfect,we all make mistakes,i make plenty.but..with practise making less will help to save you money long term.

But rest of hand you played well, GG
had a number of these type of hands y'day.
not a great deal you can do is there when opponents are happy playing to draws.
i've a lovely old fluffy white cat called 'tilley'
she usually sleeps by my feet on my big soft blanket that keeps up both warm when i'm playing poker.
i do sometimes forget she's there, and i am reminded every so often by her snoring lol
does get on me nerves a bit sometimes...
but as i snore myself....'what can you do?' lol
