Guides to Cash Games for the Lower Limits

Yesterday I posted up my thoughts and opinions on playing 2p/4p cash.

Recently Lambert180 had posted up about maybe different people writing guides for MTTs and various different styles of play. I don't know what happened to that but it sounded like a really good idea.

It would be brilliant if anyone was up for it, to write some guides for the various different levels

NL4
NL8
NL10
NL20

There will be probably be some overlap, but it would be good to hear different opinions on the various levels. It could be like a collaborative thing, where stuff is added to what other people have said. Everyone will have different ideas and ways of doing things/ playing, but it would be brilliant to get some rough guides.

Like what I wrote on NL4, many people might disagree but it was just some ideas I had for helping someone starting out and or just generally those playing at this level.

Maybe if this works out Sky could pull the information together, and put it up somewhere on the website so people could check it out in the future.

Just an idea :D

I dont really think you can write a "guide" per se. As there are various playing styles, depending in your preference.

However, there are some general guidelines that will help out newbies.

Not sure the point in this though.

The good players will not really want to be writing out an essay worth of free information for all and sundry to see.

The bad players will probably not be reading message boards anyway.

I for one am here for one reason and one reason alone - winning. And in order to achieve that, other people will need to lose.

Tbf, there's a very good chance I would not be a winning cash player now if it wasn't for Dohhhh's guide on micro stakes. Granted the information is out there, but poker players are generally lazy (or at least I am). The people who really wanna put the work in and learn, will but there will always be a massive majority who just aren't interested in improving and just want to play for fun.

Also, as a 'good player' you often learn a lot yourself by having to force yourself to actually think about the situations and think about why you do what you do, that's why it's still useless for good players to post in the clinic etc. Flexing your poker brain :)

    Voila!

Like gold dust that ;) I still have it bookmarked from ages ago. SO many people could do alot worse things than just read through this a couple of times and just do it.

i would call it abc :)

That's exactly what it is, and that's the best way to play at micro stakes. Some people don't know how to play ABC though.

Thanks for signposting me to Dohhh's guide, I like its straight forward approach and it helped me spot some weaknesses in my game.
