In no particular order, qualifiers and those chosen by Sky poker's own Sir Alex Ferguson (plenty of experience, slightly red nose and prone to the odd hairdryer moment...)
Well Wednesday night saw 69 playersplay the Online leg, Day 1a and 22 made it through with the chip leader having 279,000
Yesterday 113 played the first live day, 1b, and 35 made it through as follows
John Eames 25 9 254000 Adam Wilkinson 23 8 211200 Mitchell Johnson 13 3 203900 Stacy Coore 35 5 180100 Basharat Mahmood 34 1 147100 Daniel Hardy 13 8 145400 Matthew Davenport 23 9 136100 Patrick Leonard 13 6 133400 Lee Williamson 25 2 127800 Eirimas Livonas 34 9 127600 Tom Rutter 34 2 122700 Alex Goulder 25 6 117500 John Engledow 25 5 114100 Rupinder Bedi 35 7 107600 Tom Sabell 34 7 106300 Ishfaq Mohammed 34 3 105600 Philip Hepburn 35 1 88800 Dennis Troake 13 7 83800 Oscar Bergling 34 5 81100 Darren Wheldon 13 4 74300 Jeremy Brown 23 4 70200 Chris Sly 23 3 69100 Andrew Wayman 25 8 68800 Anonymous 23 5 66000 Tom Cunningham 23 6 61800 David Mitchell 13 2 58500 Danny Toffel 13 5 56000 Ben Jackson 35 4 43100 Lynne Beaumont 23 7 41400 Chin Chai Koh 35 6 39800 Peter Haslam 13 1 32900 James Browning 25 3 30400 James Keys 25 7 30400 Rahuse Asgher 35 8 27500 James Sykes 35 9 25800
You might recognise a few names, such as beaneh...
The chip leader is one of THE most accomplished UK MTT players both live and Online, John Eames from Southport. Worth a bit of research if you have the time.
All of these players started with 30,000 chips at 50-100. 11 levels to be played today on the EPT Grand Final Structure....finish for the players around 12.30am...
The event itself is £500,000 Guaranteed. This is quite the gamble for DTD Owner Rob Yong, who wrote last night....
"So the numbers are a little behind our targets going into the home straight tomorrow:
Day 1a Online 69 runners (target 75) Day 1b Live 113 runners (target 125) Day 1c Live runners (target 300)
Because we are 18 runners behind target, we now need 318 players tomorrow, to put this into context, the record for a previous Monte Carlo is 313 runners over 2 Day 1's, so we have to exceed that - but all on the same day. Currently we have 183 pre registrations for tomorrow, so need 135 players to stump up £1K tomorrow.
Once you go into the £1K mark, direct buy-ins a whole different ball game, that is why we have always been cautious not to GTE more than £250k (250 runner) for the previous Monte Carlo's. However, we felt we wanted to have a punt at getting the Monte Carlo up to £1M so we are punting this week and are not million miles away - would love to hit the number going into the ISPT launch next week, will give us a boost"
Also, have Sky thought about helping out DtD with meeting the guarantee...here is my plan
Sky buy Rich Orford into the tournament and then advertise they are doing this through facebook/twitter etc. Poker players will flock to Nottingham when they see the value!
There was a live satellite last night, and these were the qualifiers
1 Mark Reed 2 Jack Allen 3 Mohammed Ifzail 4 Wayne Rogers 5 Kelly Peters 6 James Atkin 7 Lee Connett 8 Chris Jones 9 Charles Akadiri 10 Ravinder Chahal 11 Barkatul Mohammed 12 Mark Briggs 13 Adam Picken 14 Sinem Melin 15 Mark Mccluskey 16 Stephen Barrett 17 Terry Carter 18 Vikas Sabharwal 19 Francis Obadun 20 James Hoyes
so what? you say
well, 16 Stephen Barrett
is none other than "stebar", Jamie Lou's Dad!
The Rochdale massive are here to rail Jamie Lou and now they have her Dad to rail too....
Nice!
The key hand was a fun one
A raise, and a shorter stack shoves all in. This is with 50 left, and 20 seats
Stebar calls the 3 bet shove with 5-5, and finds himself against A-K and A-Q
Whoever wins this pot, goes a long way to winning a seat
King on the turn
River? 5
The crowd (well Jamie Lou, through the post-work yawns) goes wild....

and a valet. Just because I like the uniforms
Which of the 11 Team Sky Poker players will last longest in the event?
Tiebreaker: Which position will they finish?
Prize: Sunday Primo seat to the winner
So, for example
Aussie09 (Humour me), 24th
or
yoyo, 1st
etc etc
A two part answer please
Everyone who gives the correct name then goes to the tiebreaker, nearest to finishing position wins..
Please join tikay and I from midday for Live Updates, Sky Poker style.....til the last Team Sky Poker chip falls.....
Best of luck to the team today, also I really hope the guarantee is met.

Are we ready? Well no, not exactly.
Wrong Laptop today. I forgot the power cable of my "number 1 Lappie", ugh.
Wrong weather. Got a summer scarf on.
Wrong socks. Don't ask.
Wrong TV Presenter. Orford is here. Into each life, a little rain must fall.
But.......RIGHT DAY for our Team.
Arrived already are.....
