    *gulp*

Have had an awful week at the tables.  Roll isnt look very healthy by anyones standards.  Deck has not been kind at all... which resulted in me also tilting a tiny bit and losing more.  Can say with confidence that yesterday was the worst day i've had since I made the move (both at work and on poker) .  It was just terrible... but lets not dwell.

Decided id hit the casino to try and break the downswing of online.  Long story short it didnt work.  Some guy decided to have quads at one point which made me cry inside.

Hoping it wont last too long.  I was never very good at BRM and it cant handle much longer at the same rate.  I do however have £1k locked in my UKPC seat which I could dereg at any point which has crossed my mind.  We shall see.

Have some holiday from work end of August.  Have 8 days off in a row I think.  Might go somewhere nice.  Thinking possibly a trip to Sweden or somewhere I havent been.  Anyone got any good ideas?

This past 6/7 weeks in this new job has been pretty crazy.  I guess it may be exaggerated by the fact that I also moved out from my parents house and into a new city by myself, but I do find myself questioning my decision on occassions.

I love and hate the job at the same time... if thats really possible.  On the one side im in a very fast, dynamic and challenging job which will boost my experience in the field to no end.  I've not even managed to learn 50% of the job in 6/7 weeks which just shows how much there is to it.  My previous job was very slow paced and easy, whilst this one challenges me on a daily basis... there is no time to sit and twiddle your thumbs here.  Its a constant sprint all day.  I embrace the challenge though as I'll develop skills much quicker than in your standard office job and will boost opportunities for me in the future a great deal.

However the downsides are long days and a bit of stress to go along with it.  I work different hours each day and different days each week so I cant join a football club or something as I might be able to play one week but not the next 3/4...  People finish shifts at all different times meaning that after a long shift you cant just pop down to the pub with everyone you are working with.  Socialising does not go hand in hand in this job which is really difficult when you have moved to a new city and know noone.  I come home each night to an empty flat and dont quite know what to do myself with my days off.  Perhaps im just being a bit melodramatic about it all but its kinda tough to deal with on a day by day/ week by week basis.

Back home i'd have an easy job (in a terrible company), but id have my friends near me and I could go to the pub at the weekend with them and play football too.  I miss that. A lot.

Not really a point to this post... i'm just rambling.  I keep telling myself I made the right decision and I think I have but I can't help but think that i've sacrificed a **** of a lot for this job.  I just hope its worth it.

You just have to give it a bit of time, mate. Six months perhaps. It sounds like you're enjoying the job - getting a buzz out of it - and that's what will keep you going until you find a rhythm. Friends and socialising will follow. Chin up. On the other side of Christmas you'll be loving life.

Right. Not much to report in last few days.  Swing swongs and the like but nothing too mega.

Just looking forward to UKPC in two weeks.  Been talking to a few people and think it may be wise to sell a bit of action.... cause after all £1k is a lot of money no?

Not sure how much I want to sell.  Maybe 20-25% - maybe more, maybe less depending on interest.  If anyone is remotely interested feel free to post on here or PM me.  If you don't know me well enough to know if its worth taking a shot at me or not then maybe this will convince you...

1 spt.  1 min cash. Ohhhh yeaaahhhhhhh.  Thats 100% people. :)

Or just sharkscope.  Thats probably a bigger sample size to be fair.

    Replied Jac.

No mark up mate... can I consider that 2.5% sold?  If so i'll send accross some bank details.  None of this Skrill nonsense Jac is trying to make me use.  He must work for them or something.

Well im off to Notts to play the UKPC Main Event tomorrow.  It'l be the biggest tournament i've played both live and online... and could potentially be the largest I ever play.  Best not get wrapped up in the occassion then!

Plan is to have some fun, meet some people and play my normal game.  No need to play this tournament any differently than I would any other as I SAT in so havent had to pay the full wack.

I think patience will be the key in the slow structure.  The last tournament I played live which had a similar structure was SPT at Notts, so the place and atmosphere will be familar to me.  Just relax and see if I can cash in this, as I did that in that tournament.

Just played a bit tonight and managed to bink the 9pm for a tidy sum.  Omens look OK for tomorrows tournament venture then.

Got a few people staking me in UKPC, so cheers to them.  I'll do my best.

I guess I'll see you on the other side.  :)

I wish I had some better news for those that had backed me but I bust right at the end of the penultimate level yesterday in a pot that would have seen me gather a decent stack into day two. I peeled a small 3 bet with A10cc. Flop came down with two clubs and a backdoor straight draw.  I played it quite aggressively and ended up getting it in on the flop against KK which held. I was left with 9 bb and shoved 10 9s on the button which was called by K7o which also held.  It how it goes I guess. Another day I hit my flush draw and would have gotten into day 2 with a really decent chance of pushing on for a cash or even further.

I had some fun though so isn't the end of the world.  I'll just have to win the next one ;).

On a side note... I played some cash in the evening and did quite well... although I'm not sure tommyd will ever talk to me again but that's a story for another time.
