villain bets the pot leading into 3 players showing a lot of strength
do you really want to go to war against that, and with 2 others behind you, with just 88 and a straight draw

It's a fold on the turn. I could elaborate but it's late and Geldy summed it up quite nicely.

PS you will get better feedback if you remove the result before posting. it devalues the responses ("well you would say that as you know what happened") as well as reducing the number of peeps who would be willing to argue to the contrary (although you can get good non-results orientated feedback on here, you might get less of it)

I agree with Geldy here...on both posts, ... also early stages of a tournie?? 10-20 blinds?..splish splash..and the villian short stacked?...posted on this sort of play months ago and took some real flack for it...

Pre is fine and flop is fine. As Geldy says, Turn is a fold after he full pots (which is basically a shove) 3way. You have zero FE when you shove cos he has 40 chips behind, so you just need to beat his range given the pot odds and I don't think you will be.

Thanks guys.  I did think at the time it was loose.  I have history with this player and couldnt resist the possibility of knocking him out.

Should play the situation... not the player.

Its probably not as bad as being ridiculed by everyone. Its easy to fall in love with an overpair, expessially when we have a draw too.

I wont comment on the hand as Geldy has really done that, and you dont need telling people telling you the same thing.
