September 14-15 SPT Newcastle at Aspers

A two day £100+10 event £15,000 GTD

200 capacity

Full details of qualification etc after Birmingham

The Grand Final will be at the end of October, so keep a few days spare around that weekend.  Not just the weekend :-)

I thought I would plan ahead & book the hotel for that weekend, only to find most are either booked up or the price has gone through the roof (no cheap deals to be found) because I have been told the Great North run is on the same weekend thousands of runners have booked up the rooms inadvance,

good luck with your search if there is any deals out there please post

cheers

Yes, just tried to do the same and there isn't a bed at a premier inn within 20 miles of Newcastle. Is the date written in stone or can ith be moved as I think everyone will have a nightmare getting beds.

Is the casino, 24 hours, that may be our best chance of a roof over our heads !!!!

Theres a thread stating the same in GPC - here for those who want to see it.

Basically this was brought to my attention by the said thread. The cheapest hotel within my search sites radius of the casino is £170 for 2 nights (that was assuming we head straight home after day 2.

For a £110 community tour event i really dont think this is finacially feasable. The fact that the event is £110 and 2 day i know has already put some people off.

With the cost of accomodation being £200+ before travel won't do much to convince them otherwise.

    Hi

I obviously wasn't maware of this when I booked the date in

No promises, but I have a call into the venue to see if a week either side is suitable for them, if so need to discuss with Sky Poker and look at the poker calendar too

    Leave it with me...

too early to say, we have a six max at DTD first

but its a £100 event in a very popular venue, I'd say direct entry is highly unlikely

If you can recommend any laybys to pitch tents or shop doorways where we can sleep, I'm with you on this one!!!! Do you live within driving distance by any chance??

St. James' Park isn't far.  I've managed to sneak into Stamford Bridge for a kickabout once so pitching a tent up in St. James' Park should be a doddle.

Probably the best use for St James Park, not seen much proper football fopr a while. Guarantee it would be alound by Mr Ashley if we promised to buy our camping gear from Sports Direct!!! He may even change the name of the stadium again if the price was right.

OK, I'm ready and waiting for the barage of abuse from the Newcastle supporters, bring it on both of you LOL

As it happens i do live within driving distance, but when all the other SPT are on us northern players have to stump up for hotels , and to be honest i am working that weekend and not for the first dates.
