MattBates has a totally different style which should be very additive to my play TommyD obv evilpingu and rancid could definitely add some value and if Borinloner can teach as well as he can post then for sure

Don't say things like this. Take a look at my scope graph and compare it to the other guys you mention. You'll see I don't belong in their company. (Not that results always reflect ability but in this instance they do)

MattBates would be my ideal choice.

His MTT game is awsome imo and I would love my game to progress/move into this direction.

I have been watching his game for months now and it seriously impresses me how he accumulates chips so easily.

So that's why his bankroll doubled after your session!

you have said yourself that you play worse than your commentary
you always provide a clear point of view, broken down component by component
for anyone who has not yet got into a frame of mind to think hands through like that
you could provide a great uplift

Grantorino,  his advice in the clinic, IMO,  is ALWAYS spot-on. If he's not available I'd prob go for Solack or ryan83 - they ALWAYS seem to be on GAryQQQQ's results threads!

Jeez! Just after I posted this I realised the ideal mentor for me would be GaryQQQ!

I guess I'll have to start crushing the tables so people stop thinking of me as good at talking and terrible at playing.

I'd also prefer to be considered as a contender for the total player thing, rather than some sort of low-stakes mentor for n00bs. lol

Ryan, Thewy and Redmond are all emplyed by Sky to be analysts and to try and give tips to the Skypoker players, so it would be insulting to not give them 1st refusal to become a mentor IMO.

Coxy is a great guy, very approachable and from what is said a very good coach, so he would be a good addition to the mentoring team.

Of the players who play on Sky (if only occaisionally)

    2guys1account
    LeChoss
    Railtard1

    Of the regulars:

    MattBates

I love Matt's super aggressive style and would love to be able to add more of it to my game.

If I had to choose just one of the above it would be LeChoss, great player and proven winner at the highest levels and it would be great fun too as he's such a great character.

I think mrshankley should be a mentor and teach players how to come on a table and spew abuse at players.

Ideal mentor for me would be Ryan83, great mtt player who started at the bottom and still plays the way. He also dosen't care about the science of the game, brm or making it harder than it is. Total stripped backed to basics abc poker with an awesome winning edge. Also helps that he's a gret guy ;')

    HI G

A really interesting question. Tob e a mentor i think you have to be able to put across what your ethos is towards certain situations. Yes Coxlboro has experience of this (though a did see 'the unconscious competence' stuff in a well known book but at least that showed he had researched it) and TommyD has the teaching experience to be able to put it across well and order his work corretly. GaryQQQ for low level MTT's would be good for me i think though in the clinic, i've always been impressed with Borinloner's full but logical explanations.
