cant read my messages, any ideas?

i cant open messages to me on my profile in the forum on my pc running windows 8, but i can log in from a friends and read them his machine is running windows 7.
 any suggestions would be greatfully recieved( please dont say get windows 7)

    Have you tried a diffrent browser?Some had problems with this(chrome i think).
    Only a guess as windows 8 did not exist at that time diffrent browers did help then.GL
