In Response to SPT Nottingham Virgin group - apply within if it's your first SPT:
If you are a fellow SPT Virgin like me , than post in here.....no need t o be loney a t an SPT. It can be quite daunting going to an SPT for the 1st time espcially if your going on your jack jones, so post in here if you wanna be part of this SPT Virgin group. I myself will be going down Friday early evening so not 100% if people are meeting at the DT D bar or pub , but in true S k y style - the more the merrier. If you post in here I will be updating any arranged meets for drink s. I am intrigued with the name badge situation , sure they don't get handed out till Saturday. S o it may be an issue identi ying the Sky players but hey , this group is here to help you :) Come down join in , don't be shy and don't be a stranger.   NO MAN IS LEFT BEHIND AT AN SPT ! Yes I did it, my first SPT so please be gentle. Can’t wait to meet all you lovely people from the forum who I have had the pleasure to exchange pleasantries with over the last two years. Time to get out from behind the PC and play some live pokerz , slightly appre h ensive !   If you see my lonely figure walking through the casino , just say yo ! Looking forward to a good weekend   Marc --------

    Not intentional....<3

Also it's not designed to encourage women or men to meet strangers from the internet in bars for drinks !

NOBODY IS LEFT BEHIND AT AN SPT !

Just a question for the masses.
If your not part of one of the teams and it's your first SPT how are you welcomed into the mass community appeal that is Sky poker.
Is it like speed dating where everyone is walking around looking at name badges trying to identify who is who.

    Intrigued.....

In answer to your question, I and a few others know what you look like so I'd probably just come over and say hello, I'm X, this is Y and Z or w/e.

OR chances are you'll recognise someone yourself, like you'll know what Tommy looks like or w.e, then u can just say hello and job's a good 'un.

    Yeahhhh.  SPT Virgin here.

As I am going by myself, it'd be nice to be included in any sort of drinking venture on the Friday/Saturday so I can meet people and make the most of my trek up north.

I haven't booked accomodation yet so i'll have to look into that.

And I also didnt know you had to be a member of DTD to play!  Will have to get on that too!

    Looking forward to it.

Not so much worried about myself, but justing putting arms out to people who maybe are coming on their own and don't know anyone and feel slightly apprehesive with meeting new people etc..

Then they can join this group of like minded souls and all meet up together if people so wish.
Rarther than just turning up and feeling like a melon on your own at the bar waiting for someone to come up to you and say hello or maybe they feel a bit awkward walking up to strangers in a bar.

I am sure everyone at the SPT will be very nice and welcoming but with so many people knowing each other already it may be case of newcomers feeling a bit isolated. - hence the group.

Plus I was planning on avoiding you to be honest Paul......but now you know what I look like I guess I got no chance :)

Anywayz a couple of pints with your name on at the bar when I see ya....

It's not big but it may get bigger......I'll pm group details of any planned meets for Friday at DTD or elsewhere
The idea being if your going Friday then we can meet up with some other Sky regs on the Friday evening
If your coming on the Saturday, then it will be around mid morning on the Saturday we can meet at DTD

Then we will meet everyone else and have a right old jolly up!

If anyone wants adding to the group then post here...and I'll add you....

I would just sell you're ticket rancid, as you will not last more than a couple of levels anyway. Plus they are really boring events....no-one talks/drinks/socialises. You best spend the cash on a visit to town's Castle.

If I go, and by some fluke I am in the vicinity of the Bar, I will let you buy me a pint though! :)

Only ever played online and am still a newbie to that , would really like to get the live event monkey off my back. I will be in every sat going trying my hardest to get a seat.

If my luck comes in would like to join this group as i don't have a clue how these events work.
