to much of a hero call?

any decent player might see why i called this... or mabye not? 

is this a hero call or just a really bad call?

Far too much of a 'hero' call. Nothing heroic about it really in fact. 

Villain has raised pre. Called the donk lead on the flop. He's called the bet on the turn. He then bets very strong on the river. Think about his range coupled with how the hand has played out.

Think of the hands that he could call down with that we still beat on the river. Bearing in mind we hold the A of spades. Essentially, we beat nothing apart from 2 random spades. But these 2 random spades can also include the J or Qs that we can't beat. To make this call I think you have to put him almost specifically on 78 spades, though that would probably raise the flop with so much equity and has picked up (modest) showdown value on the river.

Now think of all the hands that, as played, beat us. Almost too many to list. Unless you have extremely specific notes on the villain, this will almost always be a losing call in my opinion.

If this was a thread where you called and miraculously won somehow, I would still call it too much of a hero call. Even with specific reads on a player, you are losing here so many more times than you are winning. Without specific reads, you win like 1 in 100 here.

The fact you didn't win should be all the explanation you need- this wasn't even a hero call, just a really really bad one.

MP raise, ctn bet but small raise on turn doesn't suggest strength does it. That river card opens up the straight and a big bet comes so its a bluff(busted flush draw) or that Jx. Yes i can see why you call but i don't think you should as what are you beating but that bluff?

PS By the way, its the other guys name you should disguise as he doesn't want his way of playing advertised.
