I have played this opponent quite a bit if you folded it was defo the right move.

but even without notes on this opponent given the action think it`s quite clear 1pair just ain`t good here.

A few things to consider- he hasn't done the good old donk minraise, it's a real raise- so that says he's at least a semi-regular, competent player. That works in your favour, meaning the odds of him making a move with a draw here went up. But if he's competent enough to realise how position works against him here, he would also be wanting to get money in against exactly the kind of hand you have assuming he has the set/top 2. Being first to act on the turn puts him in a terrible position if he calls, because he then has to either donk lead into you, or check and risk you checking behind.

This leaves you against a draw or top two/ set. You have only a little above average equity against the first, pretty thin on the second and super thin against the third- so a fold is definitely my vote.

FWIW, in the other players shoes- what would YOU do here assuming you're holding 10-9 for the open ended on a dry as **** board, facing a bet and a call? Would you call or straight up fold? Would you be donk leading the draw, or looking to check raise with the power of fold equity? The more I look at this, the more I'm thinking the villain has played his hand exactly like I would with 10-9.
