In a time tourney, why get involved the first hand with 7 10 Suited?

Easy fold pre. In these tournies, just wait for premium hands and maximise value, and the last thing you want to be doing is dribbling away chips. What are you doing when you miss? Which we are most times.

In these types of games people dont like folding. As Played just shove, where you prob plenty of outs, unless they have you totally dominated, higher flush draw/ set, 2 pair.

Firstly don't play it!

Secondly i suppose with 12 outs to improve to probably a winning hand its approx 48% so i suppose ship and look for a good result or a nice cup of tea.

I still wouldn't play it though.

Fold pre is the standard line

however if you want to be active fine

but it needs a 3x raise pre

you don't want callers after all

and you cannot get much of a better flop for your hand

so show them how aggro you can be

and if you get it through they'll be a little cautious with you in the following hands

Yeah don't see any problem raising pre at all assuming we know how to play postflop and from your clinic posts you seem to know...

I flat the flop too cos for us to be semi-bluffing it means we have to get folds sometimes and I doubt they're ever folding.

Yeah I think a minraise is fine cos we're only 40xBB deep and just like in any MTT when stacks start getting shallower we wanna lower our raise sizes so we can play more pots and use our post flop edge more, steal chips cheaper and get away from hands cheaper.

I like the call too cos if we shove it's a semi bluff and that means we need to get folds sometimes for it to be good, and I don't think many people are donkbetting near full pot then folding to a shove, so dont think we're getting folds but we have too many outs to fold.

It won't let me post the rest of the hand history for some unknown reason. But it went like this. I jammed the flop. He tanks. Tanks a bit more. Finally calls just before the time runs out. Shows 7 8 for the up n' down.

10 high is still ahead by the river. I was ahead all along; you nits saying fold pre, pah!

1. Yes because its shallow and it's good to take the initiative.

2. No, it's not passive, we have no need to gamble by getting it all in, if he has the ace he is never folding, and we are going to have to hit. If we call flop, we get to see a lot of turns for free, or take it down on the turn whichever seems right at the time. If we had the ace, we would nearly always flat, and we can have the ace.
