why do so many aces always come out?

just played in 2 sit n go's
counted/saw 100 flops and there was an ace on 97 of them
fed up of it.
everything i play i always seem to get beat

just flopped 4 straights in a row, got beat on all of them, they alway get a flush on the river card.

i had AA and flopped AA only to get beaten again on the river he gets a royal flush.

i had k q and flopped k q someone goes all in with 2 and 5
turn card a 2, river card a 2

dont know what ime supposed to do to win.

    Why do so many people make such extraordinary claims?!

    Quick maths suggest that if you don't have an ace in you hand, at least one will appear on the flop roughly 23% of the time. In reality it's likely to be slightly lower than this, as people are more likely to play to flops if they have an ace (ie the probability of an ace appearing in someone's holding is higher than random average if they see a flop), but that bit is highly marginal.

    If you have an ace, the probability reduces to 17%. I'm going to stick my neck out here and say 97% didn't happen.

    I'm going to play now and I'll do a count, maybe others as sad as me will do the same, easy one to check.

    Please pot the AAAA hand where the guy rivered a royal flush, just copy and paste it from your hand history onto here it's really easy.

    I need to see this to believe it, if only to understand how you played it top allow him to get to the river.

    sorry to be offensive wayne but this is just a down right lie. no way 97 flops out of a 100 came A high.

    going back to my old 888poker website, on there ive won big tournaments, t shirts, ipad, loads of zippo lighters, and an whole heap of other stuff.
    on here? i cant even win one hand.

    Well I hope Wayne stuck around long enough for the results...

    It took me 8 flops before I saw an ace on one of them, wasn't boding well. I took notes until 100 flops had been seen where I wasn't holding an ace.... (Includes flops where I've folded obvs, haven't got all day!)

    Saw 100 flops where my hole cards contained no aces. 18/100 contained an ace.

    Saw 20 flops where my hole cards contained one ace. 3/20 contained an ace.

    Saw 1 flop where I was dealt 2 aces, flop was K-high (and ended up getting stacked by AK! Riiiiiiiigggged!!!!)


    Other things to note, it took me about an hour 3-tabling to see those 121 flops (SnG so you see fewer flops later). I had to play 6 SnGs in total to get enough data. If you only played 2, and were losing most hands, I don't see how you could have seen 100 flops. What was also clear to me was that it is very difficult to play poker and collect data at the same time and would recommend against it if you want your results to improve!

    Well yes, I do. It was an obvious waste of time before I started, and an obvious waste of even more time after it became clear exactly how long it was going to take to see 100 darn flops!!

    Just so fed up of these posts here there and everywhere. If you have a claim, make the claim AND THEN set about collecting the data to prove it. Don't pretend you've done so and come up with utterly utterly ridiculous numbers just because your pocket pair got smashed all in pre by an ace-rag a couple of times in a bounty hunter.

    these threads are getting crazier and crazier with made up stats.

    100 flops in just 2 sit and go's
    97/100 flops an ace

    these are on par with the thread in punters corner where someone claimed they were outdrawn on the river 4 hands in a row and the odds must have been over a BILLION to ONE.

    Odds of flopping a straight are quoted as being about 1.3%, this guy's done it 4 times in a row!!

    In the spirit of completely ridiculously untrue statistics, the number of decimal places you need to make that non-zero is more than I've had hot dinners.

    Let's create some false scenarios that are at least partially believable.

    Fingers crossed Wayney will have better luck in the freeroll at 18.30. Shall we rail to see if most of the flops have Aces? And it would be good to see another Royal over Quads. It's bound to happen.
