When faced with a raise, I like to say to myself "What hands am I beating right now>", if you cant think of much to reply with then look at folding (assuming you are not on a draw - which obv changes things).

Hand 1, only thing you might be beating is a flush draw sometimes, thats all I can think of. Even thats being optimistic.

I fold to the raise there.

Hand 2,  on the flop, would ace 8 or ace 9 raise here? maybe a warning sign, turn, meh, not folding having called the flop and now made trips.

Note, why AJ 5xbb and AT 3xbb? 3xbb is about right imo.

Caveat - cash player, so take with salt.

A min raise should always set off the alarm bells. Hand 1 could be a fold, feels pretty nitty though. Although you don't have very much behind after the 360 bet so don't mind going for it here. There are still hands we beat that we can get action from. Villain got very lucky.

Hand 2, think I play pretty similar. Villain disguised their hand, and once that 2nd A falls it's all going in. They could have any A after just calling in the SB, and obviously we beat most aces.

Hand 1 - they are never min raising like that with a FD, either call or Jam in an attempt to blow you off a hand. I think you need a read to get it in here (like you have seen this before with weak 1 pair holdings "for information", even so though, its alot of chips for someone to risk "for information"). most the time- fold. nitty, but still a fold.

similar situation in hand 2, I dont think the villain is raising with a worse A and there are no draws.  Im actually quite suprised they only have 1 pair on the flop.
