SPT Freeroll or not?

I have just seen in the lobby a freeroll for SPT Newcastle for a whopping 5000 rewards points. Am I missing something here or is swapping 5000 points ( the first 5000 is worth £100 hard cash) just horrific value, especially as you are not guaranteed a seat ??!!

    Im confused if the points you use are from this month or ones youve accumulated over your time playing on the site.

    If its this month I dont see why anyone would do it...

    This doesn't effect your Sky Poker Rewards points for this Month, it's just the spare ones you have accumulated - what else are you gonna use them for?

    No one is being forced to play it, if they don't think it's good value, they can just leave the spare points just sitting in their account.

    jeez...look a gift horse in the mouth why dont you?.....i have 25000  useless point in my account...now i have something to pend them on....basically a chance to get a free seat..cheers

    They are useless now, but maybe not in the future.
     
    They might decide to run something similar to this, but with more seats, or less points, or a combo of the 2. Something to reflect the true value of the 'useless' points that you have paid money for over the years.

    Awesome spinnage by Sky to flip this in to a positive. How do you fall for it?

    For whats its worth - i think this is a fantastic idea to use these, basically, useless points. I dont have anywhere near 5000 but I had enough for a few goes at the 500 point allin sats. Just what we need.  Well done sky.
