villain Y I know he does sometimes bluff but villain X was not well known to me the strength of my raise pre could have made it easier to think of me holding a premium pair. with the flop then being Q high it was probably unlikely he would be holding top pair top kicker and hands like AA and KK would be more than likely raised pre and as for 92 well that looks too loose.
so it has got me thinking should I just do a reraise or possibly even jam.

It's a flat for me. Flatting makes the pot £13 and we'll only have £9 left so VERY easy to get the rest of our money in and we're never folding/never scared of going behind.

FWIW though, I like betting small on the flop but we can still bet bigger than £1 and make our life alot easier.

Just flat it, maybe get more value from player that still has to act.

Or just shove, nothing wrong with either lines in my opinion.

thanks for the tips with the hand

what I did was just like what you said paul I decided to do the call on the flop
when the 8 came on the turn I was not really too worried about that the draw I was more concerned about was flush draw

what I am wondering here is should I have did a donk bet on the turn rather than hope for a check jam the reason I say this is again with it being top set on a raggy board the chances are if he had a set he will always want to then either jam or raise, also knowing that he is on the button if it gets checked round to him I am thinking he will take the free card rather than risk more money knowing the flush could still not come and  he will get jammed on for sure.
