UKOPS - Attention Skypoker

I did post in one of the other UKOPS related threads but thought it would be better to post in here so it gets seen by the appropriate people.

This thread is aiming to make skypoker better and to in a constructive manner to try and improve things and let the powers than be know our concerns over issues over the UKOPS series and to hopefully learn from it. Any posts that are not constructive are not welcome, they wont improve skypoker and potentially lead to the thread being closed which does none of us any favours!

Post from other thread

Trying not to be rude, but radio silence makes it really hard!

Any chance of some post from the "suits"? We have seen posts from "skypoker" about prem freeroll/heads up cash etc but nothing about the numerous lobby issues over UKOPS.

Given UKOPS was on over the bank holiday weekend I would have thought key staff would have been in to deal with issues (and realise there was an issue with tournament set up and get a check in place after Friday which could have meant that the issues on Sunday didn't occur) but moving on from that point, assuming it wasn't important enough to get people in on the bank holiday Monday, I would have thought it would have been somewhere up the list on Tuesday's to do list?

On Friday there was issues with descriptions in sats that were brought to the attention of sky through the forum. This continued all weekend and we had the two mini's on Friday, and then the "3 max" issue and the £55bh payout issue on Sunday.

I didn't bother making a complaint to customer care as everyone who entered was in the same boat and I thought I would give time for sky to look into things and do an official announcement/resolution. Should I and everyone involved in the issues be putting a complaint to customer care? (Seems like a massive waste of everyone's (players and customer care) time when the problem is known!)

Mistakes happen in all walks of life, business included, how a business responds (both internally and the messages it gives to its customers) to the mistakes is key....over to you skypoker.

    Good idea for a thread.

Let's try to keep this open guys, in other words let's not have any trolling or randomly non-coherent flaming and ranting.  This could be a very good avenue for feedback and improvement etc.

I will try and have this post as a bullet form point for all UKOPS issues and will keep editing it so we have a catch all. Just to be clear "I kept bubbling sats" is not an issue (unless you are Don!) and wont make the list!

The 3 max was 6 handed

Sunday nights side event (£55bh) payout structure was incorrect.

Satellites were set up with incorrect wording. Eg you win entry to the 8pm speed BH (the speed BH started at 10). This was confusing as players didn't know what tournament they were winning entry into.

Just a suggestion for the next UKOPS. Could there be some £11 - £22 tournaments added.
As much as i'd like to play the £55 - £110 mtts, i'm nowhere near rolled enough to buy in to these.
I know there's always sats but i'd prefer to just buy in direct most of the time.
There seemed to be a big gap between mtt selection, either £2/£5 or £55/£110 and no selection inbetween.
I enjoyed playing the series but would of liked to of played more, just some feedback for next time, thanks.

There was also the freeroll on Sunday that should of given entry into the UKOPS mini but didn't give entry to anything.

+1 for the Omaha next time. Especially if its a micro. Hopefully that will get more people at least trying the game

On such a big weekend, which has the potential to drive lots of new customers to the site, I would say that Customer Support need to be there visibly responding and acting.  To enable this to work effectively, I my opinion they need:

    1. A SkyPoker-specific agent(s) with access to the Live Chat system, such that poker related queries can be passed and dealt with by someone with the appropriate knowledge. If this is not operationally possible (in terms of access), then a thread should be created for any issues that are known and in the process of being rectified such that the CS front-line operator can point the player to the forum.  Perhaps issues like the 3-max being 6-handed will still not be known until after the tournament has started, but even something that indicates that the problem is known would help alleviate confusion and multiple posts on the same topic.

    2. Staff with the appropriate access to amend tournament structures, lobby names etc. In a lot of cases the players will notice something is up a while before the start of a tournament, or in the case of the Satellite lobby descriptions the feedback can be taken and action implemented such that the errors don't creep through subsequent days across the weekend.

People being on holiday on the BH period doesn't really make sense to me if there is a significant promotion/activity planned, and would make more sense to pay key staff time and a half etc.

Scrap the the cash game that was played on the Monday from future UKOPS. Seems a pretty pointless addition to the schedule and this was highlighted by the lack of numbers.

Put a break at 55 mins past the hour in sats please. I went 3 hours without a scheduled break running up and down stairs to pee

I started a thread on sunday night but received no response from sky on it yet.  I have also contacred the support team but havnt received a response yet.

I came 2nd in the ukops side event on sunday night and received £269.75 for this plus £212.11 for 3 head prizes. The tournament had an error in that 75% of the prize pool was being taken out for bounties instead of the usual so the winner received £1456.56 plus £466.88.  We were effectively playing like a £1k heads up game because of the error and he had over £600 on his head at the time.  Not sure how this could have happened who ever set the tournament up has made an error but not sure how an error like this could be made considering there is countless bounty hunter tournaments on sky throughout the day.  It is dissapointing for such an error like this to have happened especially as it was for ukops.

Would like to add that the winner throughly deserved his victory heads up but thats beside the fact that the structure was still a circus.  On a sunday mtts can can be a very high outlay for mtt players so when you do manage a 2nd it can be incredibly tilting to receive what i got for 2nd place of a ukops side event.  Yes i agree it was the same for all players in the tournament but thats beside the fact that it still effected some people far worse off than others and should never have been this way in the 1st place.

    Hi guys

Apologies for the confusion this may have caused at the time.

We, like you, became aware of this once the event had started and been running for some time. We took the decision that, on this occasion, the best option was to let the tournament run its course. Stopping it half way through would likely have been more disruptive and been difficult to rearrange/communicate at short notice.

Our team here have obviously discussed how we can prevent this happening in future and additional checks have been put in place as a result.

    Thanks for your understanding.
