Bookmakers have welcomed the news that Willie Mullins plans to raid Britain regularly this winter - but played down his chances of adding a UK title to his tally of Irish championships.
Ladbrokes go 25-1 and Coral 20-1 about the County Carlow trainer getting the better of the British top two, Nicky Henderson and Paul Nicholls. However, the layers expect the presence of more Mullins runners to add a further dimension to the big races this jumps season.
"Nicky Henderson has this incredibly strong team, Paul Nicholls to a certain degree is going through a bit of rebuilding phase. To have the Irish champion with such strength in depth coming over for the big races can only be a good thing. It also means racegoers and punters will still see a lot of Ruby Walsh. He's one of the best jockeys around and has a huge following.
intressting to see if Mullins can do what o'brien has done on the FLAT.
