Its so card orientated its unreal. I played for 2 hours, 5/10 pence, came away 40 up - quid not pence lol, just cold deck after cold deck, no skill, no moves, 1 bluff!

You cannot outplay ur opponent. The only way to win is if he/she makes a big mistake (bloke had 3 2s in his hand n thought hed made quads) - or the cards play themselves.

No thinking, no skill, no enjoyment, no fun!

Hi Greg,
This is a good example of how you need to examine what you have against what is the nuts available on the board. In omaha imo, you have to be very wary when the board pairs up as the chances of the full house or quads being out are greatly enhanced.
With the chips you have i dont see you doing anything else but push, but I would have been a little more restraint and just called. Unlucky m8.

Thanks Colin, and the other Colin (Talon) whos advice im putting into use.

Im pleased that the newbies to ohama like me are being helped by those more experienced. Also, the players on my dym table are helping too.

 The thing to remember when playing down the streets in omaha is that it is virtually impossible to put your opponent on a hand because every player is playing 6 hands at the same time. So when you see multiple draws out on the board they could realistically be drawing to all of them. One skill that needs to be addressed is the pocket pair. In texas it can hold up but in omaha unless you set it up then it becomes vitrually nothing no matter how big it is

Guesswork then? - I think I had this debate with Andybee on 6 handed NLHE compared to 10 handed.. he said theres less skill 6 handed cuz its impossible to put sum1 on a hand. Wonder what he'd say about omaha?

Cmon seriously where is the skill in omaha? ur so crippled by ur cards, if they're no good, ur no good. Discipline I spose, but anyone can have that.

I'll keep trying see if it grows on me.

Its great its finally here, been years since i've played it for money.

Played a £2 dym just to get use to it again, just like riding a bike it all comes back very quickly, cashed and will try my luck in the £500 at 19-15hrs.

Just finished 24/89 in my first ever Ohama mtt. Dont think i did too much wrong! Talon railed me along the way, thanks mate.

A very enjoyable game is Ohama, im sure ill be playing lots more!

now that youv played a fair few hands now greg, im guessing it would have been an easy fold if you played that quoted hand at the start of the thread now.  

i love omaha, especially when you hit with 2 of your cards on the flop and then hit the nuts with your other 2
