Oppo is pretty solid OOP. Can't remember him ever calling OOP, generally folds or 3bets... 3bets a fair amount. Opens virtually every BTN, and folds to a raise quite a lot.

In general I'm giving up a lot of pots post-flop when someone who usually folds to 3-bets calls them. They will have a tight range so I don't really want to be bluffing too much. Sometimes I will fire one/give up and other times I will just give up right away. Our profit from 3betting them is going to come from all the times they fold.

As played the board runs out OK if we think medium-high pairs make up most of his range but I think this player might also have AK and potentially AA/KK. I guess we're trying to rep a 6x hand with the overbet (or AA/KK) but if his range is made up of 88 through to AA with some AK surely a smaller bet does the same job in folding out the 88-QQ and we lose less if he does have a hand KK,AA,AK?

I dunno this just seems pretty spewy I think but if we've been playing pretty solid/tight we can probably get away with it. A lot of bad-ish players may just see the overbet and not want to risk calling with 88-QQ but they might call a smaller bet so it's proably OK to exploit that every now and again by shoving when you think they might hero call to a normal sized bet. But against a thinking opponent it won't be working all that often!
