Oh dear shame - too late to get brain working now need some sleep
OK back on for another look at 5) but need some help Ordering none can leave us vulnerable to drafts. (8) Could Ordering mean putting in alphabetical order so "none" becomes "enno" Or just that the answer has the letters none in it in some order? That would give me something to go on why I try and work out the rest of the clue! Posted by Phantom66
All i can say for now is that the clue follows standard cryptic format. One part gives you a way of working out the answer and the other part tells you about the answer
This is probably the easiest of the clues remaining. When you think the right way and get the answer you will know that it is correct. If you are not sure then it is probably wrong

So is Commando wrong???
Ordering none = Command O
Vulnerable to drafts - could be redrafted as an ex commando (as Arnie was in the movie)!
EDIT: Sorry just seen was right - missed the commando pantless reference though!
Gutted as this was a classic Arnie film and as per confession over True Lies I really should have got that!

RE 3) Asinine cricketers lose when not out, but at least they had 50. (6) Am thinking "silly field positions" for asinine cricketers? mid on mid off point Posted by Phantom66
Hint for you. If a word seems totally out of place then it is very very important

That's good to know - unfortunately too many of the words look "out of place" in these cryptic clues!

will check back in morning
Nice work
Logic way out and gives an incorrect answer. Nice try though

Is there a military connection?
Ordering as in "Attention!"
draft as in conscription?
