Played 2 x £100 Speed B/H (results: 10th, 3rd for £13.98 + £6.10 HP) Played 1 x £100 Gtd (30 mins) (result: 5th for £9.98) Played 1 x £6K Open Direct (result: 2nd for £2.20) Played 1 x £5 Double Your Money (result: 3rd) Played 1 x £5 Six-Max (Speed) (result: 1st)
Also played a bit of cash when I was trying to hunt for the 798th million hand, lost a few pound.
As long as you can afford the loss / or to reload your account, it has to be worth taking a few shots.
At the end of the day, unless you getting to the point where the grind is bringing meaningful sums of money, fun and enjoyment has to be one of the main reasons for playing - any wins are just a bonus!
And hey, it only takes one good satellite performance followed by a bit of tournament run good and you could be insta-rolled for a year of micro-stakes

Didn't play Wednesday.
Balance now £86.65, really need to try get that back above £100 ideally.
* Decided to buy-in direct as it's an event I really enjoy. Actually started really well and was leading for much of the first 45 minutes. However I had a hand which lost me a few thousand chips and my play just became really bad after that. Unusual because I rarely go on tilt, but it's a learning experience.
Balance now £95.25. Have decided to play the main event tonight (Tuesday), regardless of if I satellite in or not. I will be trying to qualify though naturally.
Played 2 x Six-Max (Speed) (results: 2nd, 1st) Played 1 x £11 Turbo Open (result: out just before late reg closed) Played 1 x £200 GTD Turbo (result: 11th)
Day 169 (Wednesday)
Played 2 x £5.50 Double Your Money (results: 5th, 3rd)
Balance now stands at £99.42. Just about to post a number of hands on the poker clinic, been doing a lot of analysis on my play lately. I do feel like I am improving, albeit slowly.
Nice going Peter, almost got the £100 up. i 've posted on those hands you put up, hope i wasn't too hard on them/you. run good mate, dev Posted by devonfish5
Perversely, I encourage you to be hard on me - it's better for me to progress :-)
I haven't played poker for ages, mainly because of a lack of time. I'm also less keen on playing here after the demise of the SPT's and Sky Poker TV.
However, over the last few days, I found myself with nothing to do, so I played a few MTT's. MTT's have always been my favourite form of poker, despite me mainly focussing this diary on DYM's in the past.
It seems like the break has done me good - I feel like I'm playing well and running well right now :-)
I finished 21st in the Super Roller on Sunday - just three places off the money!
Since then I also won £29.88 in a £400 Bounty Hunter, and also just finished 16th in the Turbo Tuesday main event to net £27.61 - good times :-)
I'm also considering playing my first ever live tournament at the Grosvenor Casino in Leicester soon. I know someone who plays in them and he's slowly convincing me to take part. Not entirely sure how well I'll do in a live game with nine players though (rather than online six-max). Let's see :-)
I probably won't post again for a while, but I will be back at some stage.
