New tournament added, older ones removed... (Community Wednesday)

Hi all,

As many of you know, we ran a series of tournaments over the course of a Wednesday night with the aim of giving some low buy-in tournaments to the Community members. From that, a Community League could be run, which Maxally did a great job on. Over time the interest has died away, so we've made a decision to take the remaining events which formed the old Community Wednesday out with immediate effect.

We will be putting a new Freezeout tournament into the schedule at 8pm. £5.50 buy-in, 3,000 chips and a 10 minute clock. It will be a £250 GTD tonight, if it misses that guarantee will move down. Obviously, if you all get behind it and it booms, we'll look to move it up. Many of you have been asking for a good value FO at an affordable buy-in, so hopefully you'll support the tournament from the get-go.

Any questions post them in this thread.

Thanks,
Dave

Seems that you are determined to drive us micro-stakes players to other sites. All we are asking is for a no frills, £1 buyin freeze out. Guarantees not necessary, is this asking too much?

It's not in lobby yet, what do the blinds start at, and late reg..?

Shame, those were the only decent cheap MTTs other than the £1.10 DTD ones on Monday.

I even played the 35p Bounty Hunter a few times (and I hate Bounty Hunters)

£5.50 is well out of my bankroll.

This might be a noob-ish question, but what is a freezeout tournament exactly?

    Hi Peter,

A "Freezeout" is a "traditional" poker Tournament - no rebuys or re-entries.

If you bust, you are "frozen out" in effect.

You pay your buy-in and that's it. No rebuy. No re-entry. No bounties. No free cup of coffee. Straight up. Poker.

Basically just your standard old fashioned MTT. No rebuys, no 50% of the BI on your head etc etc.

You BI and 100% of the BI (minus rake) is in the prizepool for the top 10% ish of players like normal, you bust out and you're gone for good.

EDIT: Sigh lol, beaten by both  of you, wp

there is also a dearth of vareity for those who: have a b/roll that is under £200, want to excersise decent BRM and want to play MTT's. apart from the excellent £1 deepstack there are no non-turbo/rebuy/turbo rebuy MTT's for under £2.

most of the £2 tournaments are deepstacked or bounty hunters, also.

ii know people want to reduce the number of tournaments in the lobby, and a £5 freezeout would be right up my street if i was rolled for it, but there also needs to be some decent structures and variety for the lower / micro staked players,

    cheers,
    TEDDY

The tourney is in the lobby now - £250 GTD Deep at 8pm. Late reg open for 2 levels, so 20 minutes. Blinds start at 10/20.

As a fan of freezeouts and deepstacks I'm happy to see a new "regular" tourney added but another £5-50 on top of tonights Megastack and £2 deepstack is too much for me to spend in one night. I guess I'll just have to grind up my bankroll again.

was it because of a lack of interest? or was it too free up space to put 18 £6.000 all in sats on?
