Hand from £100 side event at Nottingham today.
I start hand with 12500, average at 18000

Blinds 100/200
2 limps to me,I raise AQ diamonds to 900 in cut off.
Button calls as do the limpers.

Flop Q 10 3

Checks to me and I bet 2400 into 3900 pot, button calls

Turn J

I check, button bets 5000, I fold

Button is older gentleman, not seen him get out of line. Only hand where he has been busy is where he flopped 2 pair and reraised Pokey all-in and knocked him out.

J is a pretty horrid turn card tbh so i dont mind this line, b/f from this stack into this bloated pot feels horrid.

meh we beat KQ and very little else lets just think of it like that

You can bet less on the flop for the same result maybe 2000
why check the turn - you hand him the initiative
why not bet another 2000 and then re evaluate on the river
ps what was the buttons chipstack like

I think you're right on the flop bet. I prolly could have even gone a little lower than 2000.
Know what you're saying about handing him the initiative but at that point I felt I was beat. If I had led out on turn than I feel that I'm going to have to go with the hand, no matter what he does with what I have left.

He had just above average, around 20000
