No sound from PC

Anyone got any ideas on this
At first i thought it was just my speakers but now my headphones don,t give off any sound either - EDIT THAT - It does work through my headphones now - Does this mean the speakers are knackered have gone or are they not connected properly as when i go into my devices it doesn,t show any speakers there
I,ve gone through the "Playing audio" on my computer and it did a check and said that my audio is working but i still can,t get any sound out whether it be youtube or just playing a CD and it says that the driver software is up to date
Any help or ideas would be appreciated
