Playing blind?

Has anyone ever tried playing with a Post-it note stuck over their hole cards?
Maybe just using HOT 0 METER , playing in position and watching other players betting patterns/board texture?

often wanted to try this... would be very interesting. I think there is a video on youtube somewhere of annette orberstrad (spelling?) winning a tourney with her hole cards covered - I assume you've seen that?

Matt doesn't need a post-it note , just take his high chair off him and he wouldn't be able to see the screen :-)))

Despite the lack of commentary, that video is actually really interesting watching. If you sit yourself there and basically ignore her cards entirely (as she had to), you'll see that a lot of her bets make sense depending on the line she's taken. It's worth sitting there and asking yourself "why is she betting?" when she does and why does she fold hands on certain boards?

The hand where she has AJ around 2/3 of the way in is a good example. I had to lol at all the people asking "how can she fold in that spot?"

Erm, because she can't see her cards.

I used to play v Annette alot back in the day when she actually was Annette15 on the site that became her first sponser and even then she had a amazing knowledge of position and that was at a time when most players online couldnt fold t/p t/k on any flop :)

No suprise at all that she has made alot of cash out of the game
