i will admit myself it was stupid of me not to jam my chip stack on the river. i was thinking too much about him having Q8 or even quads lol. also it was a sat with the top 12 getting through. part of me was also thinking he could be bluffing so calling would allow me to see his hand as only Q was likely to call if i jammed.

so although I was poor on the river was i right to check the turn or will i be able to still get value from the few draws and middle pairs

i don't know much about the villain. the hand itself is just knowing weather i would get much value from most opponents if i were to bet on the turn and he were not the calling station.

I don't mind a check for deception purposes, esp as we have position. If villain has a Q, then we should be getting the lot on the river anyway, but we can also lure any pair into a false sense of security by checking that turn, and leave oppo the chance to bluff lead the river for the times they have nothing but sense weakness. Looks like we've taken a stab on the flop and are giving up by checking back. Stacks ain't super deep either. The argument for betting the turn is that we can leave ourselves a PSB or so behind, but that's assuming we actually get to the river as a 2nd barrel on the turn is gonna fold out so many of villains hands.

We have to ship that river after the clickback. Any Q is basically the nuts here, and by just min raising us he is pretty much saying he has a Queen. This is fist pump get it in territory.

Jam river all day long, if he's got Q8/Q2/QJ or QQ then good luck to him. Q2 is unlikely to call pre, QQ is unlikely to not 3bet pre, and QJ is very unlikely cos we know where 3 of the jacks and 2 of the queens are so very few combos and Q8 is probably not even that likely to call pre, even more so in a satellite.

Imo, it's gonna be Qx 88/22 or a bluff nearly all the time.
