why show mathies name who folded yet not the player who beat you?

it should be mathies name that is hidden not the opponent

That's why it's correct to star the name out.

    1) we get to see his hand, so readers we will be able to pick up reads and make notes on how villain plays, which we could unfairly use to our advantage if we knew his/her alias and met them at the tables in the future.

    2) "good call pre" is another way of saying "wtf was that call pre all about" which suggests OP isn't a big fan of the villains line in the hand. Always best to erase peoples names when venting, even when doing so in a legit, light hearted way.

    It's to do with respect.
You don't allude to a player making bad calls etc and leave their name in,it's just rude really.
The other players a irrelevant to op vent..;)

    Hahaha.
Normally one of those laughing at people venting at these situations and now you're venting! love it- Karma at work. Nothing wrong with his call pre with that stack and nearly 4 to 1 odds, you're venting in the wrong direction- should be venting at the 'perfect' flop to waste your stack. haha :D
