Did I shove at the right time I personally think the chips were going after the river anyway.

I shoved after the turn thinking he might have a club in his hand.

In a normal tourney I would perhaps keep betting a little smaller but I thought this was my chance to double up. Also satted in twice so not all bad.

By shoving you are pricing out a single club anyway. Also hes not going to have a club often

As is he can only call when he has you beat, you price out everything else.

Against his overall range, bet smaller and induce him to shove those single club + pair + backdoor straight type hands, and get value from his weaker two pair / Ax / straight draws

Yeah just bet smaller on the turn and call a shove imo.

Your shove can only get called when you're beat here.

Exactly as said above, bet smaller on turn, 900-1100 is fine, you're still probably gonna have to call a shove though

    Thanks for the reply's.

Would it be really bad if I shoved after the flop or is this just bad play as I would only be gaining a few hundred chips.

The player had so many chips I think he might even had shoved anyway.

yes its bad play shoving the flop!!! what would shoving the flop achieve? it just makes a ton of hands you beat fold.
