    Obviously we know which are the strongest pre-flop but do you win more with suited connectors or pocket pairs because they are more disguised?

    Suggesting when you hit you might get paid more? Compared to, say, AK hitting an Ace on the flop and your opponent 'putting you on it'?

    I think you win more large pots with the suited connectors. The (minor) problem with AA and KK is that they often look exactly like AA and KK as played, and good opponents will fold if they sniff this out. 78 of diamonds (and the like) has a lot of long term potential, and it's much harder for a player to pin those cards to your chest.

    It's definitely the 'preflop monsters', and I'm pretty sure on a different site where you could use HUDs, then you could quite easily get the proof to confirm this.

    Good question, 'real' suited connectors eg 89, 10J have the straight potential too, obviously people like to play 'any' 2 suited as well which don't have the straight potential. It's a tough call, you can take down some really big pots if you have the high end of straight and another has the low end. Flushes are quite obvious, straights less so.

    This. There was a silly thread on 2+2 a while back where someone tried to claim that you win more with SC than AA.

    Simple fact is if you lose/don't win as much as you should with AA it's down to either really terrible variance or the fact you play your AA hands badly - either by being face up pre-flop, or not being able to fold post flop when action dictates you are beat. Or by not maximising your winnings with the hand.
