Has anyone who plays a lot of these calculated what there ROI is? Would be interesting to know what it costs to get your seat versus buying in directly?

Well it all depends on if there's overlay. Assuming there's no overlay then it's just a lottery say a £3 + 30p.... it's exactly break even to win your £3 back and long term you'd just be losing the rake.

Overlay obviously makes them +EV. For instance I was playing a lot of them last night for the ME, some of them got like 15 runners with 4 guaranteed seats to the £33 ME with a £1.80 BI.

So in that game I have a 1in3.75 chance of turning £1.80 into £33 so very +EV

Cheers Lambert. Ive started reading your diary and im finding it interesting. I knew it was probably +EV when theres overlay but wasn't sure when there isn't. I guess it makes sense actually, and I guess with everything in poker some people will do better than others.
