WSOP Main Event - The Marco Wilson TimeLine - DAY TWO

edited July 2009 in Poker Chat

Marco Wilson - aka "FREELANCER" starts his Main Event adventure in just a few moments.

You can follow his progress, both on this Thread, & in Adam's splendid Bloggery, which is in the Bloggery Section.

There is a HUGE field today - it's sold out - & it's gonna be a wonderful day.

We were all a bit down about Ben's ugly exit late last night, but it happens, and Will has safely made Day Two in grand shape.

Can Marco join him? Of course he can. He just needs to avoid QQ v A-9, & a 9-9-4 Flop!

Good Luck Marco.

They play 5 x 2 hour Levels today, with a 15 or 20 min Break after Levels 1, 2, & 4, & a Dinner Break after 3.

The starting stacks are 30,000, & they start at 50-100.

I can hear the blurby razzamatzzy intro from the Cardrooms right now, so any second now, it's SHUFFLE UP AND DEAL!

    1 hour in.

Marco is absolutely loving it, right now, he's a sponge, soaking up the wonderful stmophere. He's like a pig in you know what, or a kid in a sweet factory. Who can blame him?

At the end of the first Level, at the Break, Marco appears to have adopted the role of Table Capitano.

    37,550

    Not bad, eh?

    He's settled, he's confident, he's comfortable, & he's enjoying himself. And he's got Chips.

    Happy Days.

A very good start, if that is replicated over the rest of the day he'd be on around 65000, which would be fantastic

Yes indeedy Tikay,  37500 chips and some quality hands too, here’s one for you.

Marco holds Ac7c and calls a min raise in earlyish position, we go to the flop heads up

    Flop - KcQc10c

    Marco check/calls

    Turn 8d

    Marco check/raises

    River is a blank

Marco bets out for 3600 with the flopped nuts flush and the villain folds - Nice takedown :-)

    Go Marco!!!!

An hour into Level 2, Marco has......

    34,000

He was a bit "disturbed" for the first hour of Level Two, as he'd lost his Sky Poker bag with all his stuff in it. As that included his Passport, he was not at l settled. We went searching, & found it in the Poker Kitchen, where we'd inteviewed him during the Break, & he's mightily relieved, & can get back to playing properly now.

    Crisis over!

Wow, not what you want! Glad to see the crisis was averted without much damage to Marco's chip stack.

    Keep it up!

    Hi Bandicoot,

Marco ran AQ into AA on a flop of A Q J ......

He check called the flop, turn and river (both blanks) as he smelled a rat so the damage was minimal

He is now back up to 39000 at the end of level 2 after firing a few barrels on a raggedy board of 9 6 5 2 5

THe river bet took it down

Its now level 3 and we will have the dinner break at the end of this level - around 1 hr 30 mins time

so doing really well - come on Marco!

Sorry for delay BANDI, we have some IT issues here in the Media Centre.

As Adam already reported, he's motoring now.

We'll get a full update at the Dinner-Break, which is at the end of Level 3.
