    Bad players tend to be either too loose or too tight, very rarely in the middle

    This isn't really a question on aggression. Aggression is opposed to passivity. Tight is opposed to loose.

    Most of the time people mix these things up but if we're going to discuss it we should get it right.


    Anyway... bad players are bad not because of the hands they play but because of their understanding of what they're trying to achieve. Good players can play a very wide range or a very tight range as the circumstances demand.

    If you think there's a "right" way to play any particular hand, you're not a good player: Position, stack size, opponent's image, our own image, recent pots... all of these things and others influence whether you're a good player or not. Simply turning over 72 at showdown is not an indicator of ability.
