Here the real life scenario;
In the £300 bounty hunter, I've nearly covered my buy in with 2 heads. The blinds were 400/800 my stack is around 9000, with 11 players left on two tables. I open the other table and somebody has a 1400 stack and another player on that table has 2200. I get dealt AJ on the button, I was in 2 minds to raise or just shove. I decided to raise and get shove on from the sb. Now if I had folded I would have had about 8bb left, if I win the hand I get a full double up to a decent stack. Given prize money was small for first few place paid is my call here silly? as I've practically thrown away money (I know I still wasn't guaranteed to cash).
As it happens I called and had run into AKs.
Obviously there is the "play for the win" mentality. Just wondering what people think in the long term with regard to profitable play and bankroll building?
Cheers
Shaun
