how should you play in a dym when u have half the chips on the table and there is only 4 left and other 3 players have the same size stacks? Only asking this as there has been a few times this has happened and really not sure how i should be playing when this happens.

Of course it is great being well ahead but what is the correct way too play in this situation

should you continuosly push too try finish the game?
OR
Should you just sit and let the remaining 3 fight it out unless they try take your bb then put them all in?

thanks in advance

    Lock up!

You're in a great position. You don't need to push unless you have a great hand. If you get dealt a good hand, then by all means push. But if you push too hard and get called, then lose - you get dragged back into the mire.

As the blinds increase the pressure is on everyone else, not you. So they will be the ones fighting it out. No need to get involved unless the game goes on for ages and your blinds get whittled away (but usually the game is over by then).

ty for replies . maybe i worded it slighty wrong What i was meaning is sitting out ok and only pushing if they take ur bbs so that it is a fair and between them.u know how the hi/lo tables are vespa it is mostly all the same players and the majority of us all get on well.. but ty again

I didn't realise you were talking about omaha - not a game I've ever played, so my advice may not apply as well there (I imagine it probably still does though)

no, just fold every hand, the other 3 will fight it out

just try and protect your blinds... sooner or later the blinds are going to get so high in proportion to the three other players stack sizes that they will end up having to shove against each other...

I would play tight but look for spots and concentrate on bullying the mid stack and not the short stack. The mid stacks will always have an eye on the short stack and sort of 'forget' about you.

ty for all the replies ...yeah im still in but folding all hands execpt my bb thats all i was meaning i dont want too just be throwing the chips about just trying too bully people but at the same time don,t want people thinking im trying too help players i just find it a tricky situataion its great knowing u are pretty much safe .mostly i just let
them play it out themselves unless of course theres someone there u just have too bust ..

Am i correct in pushing them when they try take my bb?

It's a common mistake that a lot of inexperienced players make defending their big blind too much.

The big blind is the 2nd hardest place to play from, because we are out of position to 4 of the 5 other players at the table.

In a dym with a chip lead, I'd suggest being over-protective of your blinds is a big error.

there's a small difference between trying to protect your bb and shooting yourself in the head
