Bad call or not?

Playing cash poker with friends last night 10p/20p blinds, got As,Ac on dealer button! All called round to me so i raise £2.50! got a call! flop comes Js,8h,3h. He raised £4, couldn't put him on pocket js or pocket 8s because he only called the big blind and didn't want to see a heart on the turn so put him all-in! he called and he had Jd,8d. I lost! but didn't understand the £2.50 call. ( I'm a tight-aggressive player and so is he normally!).

    Not a very tight aggressive play by ure buddy, in fact id describe it as loose passive. lol. I hope u made him get the next round in!
