Ha ha, I did think something like that myself mrs D

anyway, i'm not silly & if i find i am losing money playing them i would soon stop, which is another good reason to keep a record of my progress playing them :)
off to a good start anyway, so i am feeling confident about playing them this time.
table selection is a priority for me at the moment, not much point playing against 2 or more reg's on any table, so as long as i can keep to that then i should be ok,... hopefully.

have a good day Ducky, hope you run better than y'day,
    dev x

If there's one game format that you can be a little aggressive in terms of BRM it's definitely DYMs

    day 115  monday 6/10/14

    LOST £5.25   B/R £379.08   PTS 446

    £5  W3  L2               TOTAL W 10    L 4   PROFIT £23.00

struggled today so not to unhappy losing just £5
did lose a  1 x £5 game allin with AK V AQ  villain hit Q on river, which basically cost me £10 but i guess it all levels out in the long run, so just have to accept it, at least I did nothing wrong in that game.
still happy, maybe didn't play my A game today but still happy with the progress on the £5 front, so no complaints, as it's only been 4 days since we started playing them.

Maybe we got our sticks crossed Dev ~ when I said not at all I thought you were talking about if I was upset to see you had recovered your losses after you initially posted you'd made a loss?
Either way I don't wish you anything but the best! I wouldn't have made the joke about your nephew had I thought it would upset you. I pretty much see this as a team challenge and want us both to succeed for Xmas, ok? :)
    See you tomorrow x

As I'm a true sportsman Mrs D I'll take it in the spirit that i'm sure it was intended.
it just didn't come across well & it was only the fact that I managed to get a good win in straight afterwards that saved the day.
anyway, it was my problem not yours, just thought you might have at least acknowledged what had happened & maybe shown some compassion or sympathy, as I 'm sure had it been the other way around I would have done. even an 'unlucky dev' would have been nice or 'nice bounce back' or something, but I guess as you are no sports woman you wouldn't understand.
In fact, had it happened to you I would have said not to count that as a loss towards your profit/loss column for our challenge, even though it would still show up as a loss on your bankroll.now perhaps you can see the difference between a true sportsman & someone who is not.
anyway, we can't change what has happened or what was or wasn't said, so lets move on from here. today is another day & let's get things back to something like normal.
I hope you have a good day & get a nice win in & recover some of that loss you had yesterday.
    best wishes,
    dev

getting a bit confusing which thread and which challenge we are following.

sounds a bit harsh your comments dev. I'm sure you don't mean it quite how  it reads but i can't believe ducky has warranted all that. i hope not anyway.

This is awkward because I really like both of you and it's often wise to stay out of things. I'm not wise though,  so here goes
I think we're similar in that we can both be a bit over sensitive sometimes. I reacted to a comment on my thread badly the other week. When I reflected on it I realised I was in the wrong.
Written humour is difficult and it can often be taken the wrong way.
I don't know MrsDuck and so can only go on what I've seen from her on the forum.  To me she seems to be very smart, good fun and kind. I would have a very large bet that the last thing she would want is to upset you.
it was a throwaway line. Do you honestly think she meant to hurt you?

I think the general rule in "forum world" is.

If it looks like a duck walks like a duck quacks like a duck its a duck.

Probably not the best analagy but it has ducks in so thought it appropriate?

What I mean is - if someone is generally positive and supportive on the forum - then take any posts they make in that spirit.

Any "negative" comment could be out of character - bad day etc - but is usually (99%) of the time a misunderstanding. From the posters perspective it was a joke from the readers perspective it could be taken another way.

reference our misunderstanding on the "if phantom can make a profit you should try it / hmmmm?" exchange where I was not offended but trying to make a joke about the "rub down".

Mrs Duck is definitely a duck - positive poster - looks like a misunderstanding to me - move on please. I dont for one minute think Mrs D was being "unsportspersonlike".

PS In a bankroll challenge I think a loss is a loss however it is incurred.

In mine so far I have lost x2 to an internet disconnect and x1 to an act of mercy - the roll is the roll and it doesn't lie.

I have also benefited at least once from a disconnected opponent maybe more - we dont tend to remember those as much.

In a head to head challenge where only results at the same table count (ala Twiglet v Concrete) that would be different imo.

Thanks for the posts guys, I appreciate your comments.
It's a little bit of something over nothing to you guys on the outside looking in, but when you are involved personally it is just that personal, & emotions do come into play, & things do get said in the heat of the moment & yes, maybe afterwards some things are said which we later regret.
Of course I don't think Mrs D meant to hurt me Paul...do you think I meant to hurt her?
    Of course I didn't.

I simply felt it could have been handled better, firstly by Ducks response in the first instance , or possibly lack of it,  as I've mentioned how I would have responded had it happened the other way around. And secondly yes I probably reacted negatively to a comment Ducks made which I probably shouldn't have made but I can't take that back, so I'll live with it.

yes, I agree a loss is a loss Phantom, but when a guy who isn't the full ticket shall we say who you happen to live with, suddenly decides to disconnect your own internet, I think it is a slightly unusual case as to simply losing connection in the way that it normally happens.
yes, I can see it from your point of view as tough luck, you've lost connection, get over it sort of thing, which I did once I won my next session straight afterwards,... fortunately, but losing £17.60 at that time in that manner was emotional, lets leave it at that.

Mrs D if I upset you then obviously I apologise for that... I was upset myself & wanted to get even on that score.
I know your comment was made in all sincerity & I took it the wrong way, which I regret.
I'm sure had you known all the facts as you now do, things might have been turned out differently, I don't know.

anyway, today is a new day I hope we can both move forwards & put this behind us.
    best wishes,
    Dev. x

Hey Dev, when I logged in Sunday I obviously saw the post that you'd had nephew problems but then I immediately saw your recovery post so it didn't feel necessary to write a bad luck post since you ended up in profit anyway ~ I was more focused on your nice post about you playing the £5.50s and calling me an inspiration!

OF COURSE I WOULDN'T WANT TO HURT YOUR FEELINGS!!!
So ~ make friends, make friends, never never break friends?
    Up to you...

    xx

Of course we are still friends Duck x

I need some time away right now as things are a bit emotional for me at the moment after all that's happened.
I don't know why this has happened but it has.
Maybe things have been building up to this from playing my challenge, & what happened recently
has triggered it off, I don't know.

day 116 tuesday 7/10/14   day off
day 117 wednesday  8/10/14  day off

    day 118 thursday  9/10/14

    received Sept c4p  £10.08    B/R £389.16

    £5 & £3  6 tables...

    WON £14.70   B/R  £403.86   PTS  509     £5 games W 3  L3   TOTAL W 13  L7  PROFIT +£20.00

I did write out a long post earlier today but it didn't post, so wasted a couple of hours there :(
Anyway, I'll give you the really short version...
I will for the moment at least be posting up my results only in light of everything that's happened recently.
I'm really not in the mood for chit chat right now, as all I seem to be doing is landing myself in trouble & upsetting people, which is not my intention at all & not the reason I come here.
my table chat box will also be switched off so if anyone on my tables find I am not talking, you now know the reason why.
I am also imposing a 'no post reply' ban on myself, so if anyone does leave a post here for me then please know it will be read & appreciated as always, it won't get the usual reply that's all.
My PM box is always available & feel free to go there should you wish to where any conversations will remain private, of course.
Anyway, that's it in a nutshell, or nutcase more like -:)
The challenge of course continues until my target is reached.
I wish everyone my best wishes.
    Dev. x
