    Don't call, just raise or fold for a while.  See how that goes.

    In truth,  there is way too many answers to you question, pretty much all of which include the phrase 'it depends'.

    The best way may be to post a few hands where you are uncertain and we can try and help offering some advice on what could be the optimal way to play them.
