Hi, I contacted aspers in newcastle tonight and they advised that all players playing in the sky poker tournament would need to register to the casino regardless of there age. They said that a valid passport is required however mine expired at the end of november and i dont have a driving or provisional liscense.

On the sky poker page it says anyone who looks under 22 will be asked for valid id but as i am 26, 27 in feb surely this shouldnt apply. It looks like aspers have a difference stance to the info that sky are offering.

If anyone can help from sky or otherwise please let me know asap as i have rail tickets and accomodation booked.

cheers

mat

Seriously fecked off at the moment, spoke to someone at sky tonight and said one of the skypoker guys will be in contact tomorow so hopefully will get sorted. It says on the sky poker thread that id is only required if you look 22 or under, as i am 26 it shouldnt be a problem.

Fingers crossed tomorow but if i lose my buyin ,hotel and train fare over this i wont be a happy bunny.

A bank card is good in most casinos. Take your passport along, even if it's expired it still has your date of birth on it.

Bring all the ID you have just in case. The information given was provided by Aspers. If you have problems at reception ask to speak to Sky and we will try to help out

Thanks guys for all your replys, im going to travel up and hope for the best. Spoke to a very helpful James at Sky Poker who said there should be no problems if i take my passport, utility bills and bank card.

When i rang the reception at aspers last night they were less than helpful, didnt seem too interested in customer care and told me that anyone who plays in any poker tournaments must register as a member  which didnt seem right to me..

Does this sound correct info to you.

Today i cancelled my hotel room just incase so i will need to rebook another tonight, which is the hotel with the spt rates which is near the casino and what is the promotion code.

thanks for your replys guys and look forward to meeting you and hoping to play soom poker.

They were half right. If you play a poker tournament and you cash, you have to register to get paid over a certain amount, so chances are the reception were "playing it safe". Also, if you play table games and you win a large sum, you have to register to change your chips back to money i believe, but im not too sure on that one.

However, this isn't an issue with SPT I believe because people get paid into their sky accounts, not on the day, iirc.

Feel free to correct me :)

I got on the final table at Leg 1 in Manchester and my winnings were paid straight into my Sky Poker account before close of play on the Monday!
