what can you do if you feel scared to bet when you are ahead just because it feels like you know you will come out behind every time.

    Haven't read past the first 2 hands. 

    It's hardly surprising you're getting outdrawn alot when a) you're playing low stakes PLO/PLO8, and b) you refuse to bet your hands and let people have all the free cards they want in a 'drawing game'. 

    It's pointless playing if you're not going to try.

    you should probably read the lot before commenting.

    maybe look at the other hands and you will see i do ussually bet but whats the point when u know people will not fold and then hit on the river when you do as is shown in the other hands.like the hand i had aces bet all the way with aa on qj 6 board and he calls all the way with nothing but chasing the lo hand then turn 7 a pair river 7 trips. and what about the trip queens v trip tens and lo and beyhold he hits the ten on the river for quads!

    those hands where out of the 1st 5 pages of my hand history last night thats why i am meaning when will it end.would you feel that comfortable getting it in when no matter how much of a fav you are you are still getting caught.and outdrawn and it just keeps happening for the last few months.

    Once all the money goes in the hand is over, long term it doesn't actually matter what turn/ river are. The average amount you expect to win/lose with each play is where your profit/loss comes from.

    How big is the sample size over three months? I only really play cash(variance not so big a thing) but it sounds like a really long time just to be running bad.

    those hands where just from a couple of pages and then gave up as it was just getting me annoyed looking back at them.
    been happening for a couple of months lost about 200 in that time not a lot too most i know but i really should not be losing that much at the stakes i play i am not the best but ussually manage too stay afloat.

     just cant seem too get going think maybe im playing with the thought that no matter how or what i do i will lose and this might be affectiing my play as well. its a crazy and frustrating game

    think i might just start again and read through some tikays diary and the poker clinic cheers for the reply i was more just venting and getting it out..

    Hi Churchy,

    From my limited experience in PLO8, I think you need to tighten your pre flop selections, in the hands you posted there are no double suited and your lo hand back up is weak. 
    I know this is only a small selection, but I would surmise looking through your hand history you will find less beats when you have played double suited stronger hole cards.

    Hi churchy.

    Just a bit of standard run bad really.

    All you can do is grin and bear it, it's part of the game.

    You could avoid some if it though. Hands like J-J-3-4 are positively awful, don't even make up the SB with that sort of stuff. You would be lucky to win either end with such a dreadful hand, never mind scoop.

    Don't forget, before we play any hand, ask yourself "what are the chances of scooping with this?".

    Try and get used to being more disciplined, and chuck junk like that in the muck pre flop, it can only end badly when we play such dreadful hands.

    Try just playing hands that contain an ace for a game or two. You'll be amazed at the difference.

    do agree need too tighten up on hand selection just a bad few months but it happens.
