in for the last longer. + I could do with a copy of "the Mental Game Of Poker" As playing Poker makes me" Mental" Mental as in "Mentality" And if I do not get the book,it will make me more mental. And then I will have to go and buy the Book!

These are my comments, now the Question!
    "Will it change my life"

I know when I get a few bad beats and go on tilt,I sign up for a few cheap games, get very aggressive and call almost any two cards.
Then when I get it out of my system I revert to my normal, calm ,logical strategy to win the game!
And most important, get back to enjoying a game of poker, win or lose!

    Here is my question.

I don't tilt in the traditional sense but my state of mind does affect how I play. If I am confident, I play better. However, there is a point where I get over confident & it goes wrong as well. How do I get into the right state of mind where I have belief but don't make silly mistakes through over confidence.

    All good guys.

Couple of hours till we get going.

Remember all questions that we read out on the show tonight (tilt questions from 8pm, all other mental aspects of poker from 9pm) will go in the hat.

At the end of the night- we'll dtraw 5 people from the hat and each can choose if they want a signed copy of either Book 1 or Book 2 of The Mental Game of Poker.

So, make sure you check back at the end of the ngiht or check the end of the thread to see who won as you'll want to specify your prize!

    Good luck!

    Hey,

    Have a great show!

    Regarding Tilt

I don't normally tilt on a big scale, but can be prone to it at times. I'm doing a challenge at the moment between now and Christmas, and I have a target figure I am aiming for. So far this month I have lost atleast 3/4 buy in's to  tilt/ spew.

Losing silly buy in's in silly spots is not going to help me achieve the target!

What I normally do is stop playing if it's pretty bad or just carry on through. Sometimes, it's very seldom, but does happen, when you just feel nothing is going to go right. Like when you get in a massive draw and brick everything or get it in with a set and they hit their flush.

The times this happens is really low.

Another thing I do is Tilt withdraw to a certain threshold, so it means I can't play silly and fall below (or drastically below) that level, I find this works brilliantly.

Really tilt doesn't affect me massively, but there is times I am prone to it.

What do you think of just stopping playing at times like these (before it gets worse), or withdrawn to a predetermined number to build back up again?

Also anything else you would suggest?

    Thanks

Already put another question on that 'official' question thread, but....

If you can manage your tilt whilst playing poker, can poker be used as a method of relaxation from all lifes stresses and strains which you could tilt from?

During the recent 6max UKPC. It got folded to me in the SB, I raised and the BB folded.
The player on my immediate right said " go on then show us just what you are raising on"
So I turned over my 4-2. This caused some amusement and the BB claimed he was deeply upset. He was having fun also.
So the question is this. I rarely show a hand, but on this occasion I thought it was a good time to do it as I usually play quite tight and I was not getting much action when I wanted it, so I raised hoping either to take it, or somehow get to showdown and win with this hand. So being asked gave me the best of both worlds. So am I right or am I deluding myself in thinking it matters.
