Hi everyone! I'm Irene and new to the forum-ish (been snooping since TKO...lol) but have been playing on the sky account for just over a year...Hennyway, I digress.
I had to cash in my BR (down to £50.00) to pay for multiple Birthdays and Christmas (why are all my friends and family born in November & December...don't they know it's also Christmas...how rude!!!) and havent been able to hit a barn door since...lol
Does this happen to anyone else when they cash in or am I being a tad paranoid that I have upset the mighty poker gods...do I need to offer a sacrifice or something?
As it stands my BR is now down to a pityfill £19.93 and dropping :-(
Any advice, empathy, commiserations or even proof that I am indeed wrong is welcome!!

i have the same
i think itsjust the fact when you have a big stack behind you your more confident so you play your proper game, when u go down even thought your not awear your scared of losing it so you play different this isjust a thought try thinking if you lose it all you can just put more in your account that way you aint got that devil on your shoulder saying carful just an idea gl to you wish you the best
ckd
and with the rest play on the dym games start at the 3quid games youll soon build it up
remember dont go chasin it cos youll lose belive me ive been there

On my old site, loads of the people I spoke to on there said that they went on bad runs after withdrawing. They may well have done, but obviously isnt anything strange going on. - I think when you withdraw - and spend the money, the whole mentality changes, and it begins to effect ur game. The money is no longer part of ur poker bankroll.
I dnt think u can withdraw and spend a significant % of ur poker bankroll, if ur taking ur poker very seriously. I do it to punish myself after a session of poor play, and once, even after I played a single hand poorly. But I never touch the money, it goes straight into a bank account specifically for poker. Just logging on and seeing my balance is lower, focusses the mind.
Maybe after doing the same, it has had the opposite effect on u? - Its lower, and uve spent the money, so ur sorta pannicy and uncomfortable, which will effect ur game?
If its just a bad run, then I feel for ya, hope it dusnt last too long.
GL, DOHH
If I'm honest I think you're both a bit right, I do seem to have a desire to build by BR back as soon as possible, and if anything poker is a game of patience!!! This is the third time I've cashed in now and to be honest it's a bit dishearteningbut I have to admit that for a few days I did get a bit more loose and chasey rather than tight and agg...AH WELL, it's a learning process....lol
Upon realising this a couple of weeks ago I resumed my usual playstyle of 'tight as a ducks erm... bottom' mode (it's a Yorkshire-ism) however I seem to be on the most outrageously baddest and wickedest of evil runs...now the problem is I never get paid as all fold to my 3b unless they make a bad call in which case I'll get horribly out drawn, out rivered and spanked!! To be fair maybe I should leave the cash micro's alone a play a few dym's as suggested by CKD and try to mix it up a bit...?
Ultimately I'm not on the conspiracy bus heading to Area 51, I think cashing in 95% of your bankroll will have some effect on play whether it be conscious or subconscious...Either way, thanks for the advice guys, it's good to be part of the community...hope to see you on the tables when my BR is a bit healthier :-)
This hasnt affected my game at all.
What has affected my game is my mental state caused by LOTS of things.
If i go on a bad run (which i have for the last 2 weeks) i get annoyed with myself thinking ive played badly and tilt a little.
If im tired, there are too many distractions, i.e. television on in the background, kids arguing, girlfriend talking while playing etc, if ive had a sherbert too many or if im worrying about something else i play badly simply due to lack of concentration.
So if you cashing in your bankroll is stopping your concentration, dont do it again OR, think of it as starting again.
When you first started playing poker you had a small b/r right? you had to build that up?
Go through the same process.
I hope this helps.

To me poker is like chocolate.. I pay for it, I enjoy it... I get NOTHING back.. Except an ever expanding posterior.
I heard about cashing once.. Is it like Bigfoot, Santa and the perfect man??
PS. Hey Irene welcome to our little community!! You've picked the wrong TKO team though.. You're welcome.
We who have never cashed salute you Dave.

This is a myth, I think its probably psychological and the fact you have less money in your account means you may be playing more cautiously (allowing yourself to get outdrawn) and with less confidence. It's nothing to do with the fact you've withdrawn and Sky have hit the doomsday switch on you :-)
Firstly, I have to applaud you on your brilliantly funny foruming and bloggetts....I thought Lord Orf held the 'funny' gauntlet but now I'm not so sure...lol march onward with your sword held high and much luck in TKO2...Apols for not joining team LML but to be honest as Lord Ord is my leader I felt obliged to stick with hiis side-kick considering people like Appollo 11 etc were throwing themselves overboard faster that a hundred rats jumping from a buring boat...I'm sure you'll keep it a clean and fair fight though (NOT) and I look forward to reading your eviiiiil plans to usurp Uncle Tikay x
Yup there is no doomsday button....no collaboration from the techi staff to get me off sky...lol. It's interesting to hear how other people deal with effectivley ditching 95% of their BR...I know I can build it back up, I have the last two times but why oh why doesn't everyone who's birthday is in Nov & Dec move it to something like April.May (like the queen) and allow me to concentrate on lovely Christmas thus leaving my bootiful BR alone x Am going to try to play my normal game, and get back on the horse :-)
